Bad words are worse than purposely losing the game

Why is it that I got a 2 week suspension for saying a bad word towards someone literally sitting in fountain talking shit to the team after feeding two kills, but said person doesn't get a single punishment? I get that I said an offensive word, and I take full responsibility for it, but at least I played my ass off to try and win, while this asshole sits in base doing fuck all and yet I am the bad one. Are you seriously telling me that I can sit in base and flame my team just as long as I don't say naughty words and I will be just fine while trying to win, but calling someone out for their shit is bad? If you can get suspended for saying an offensive word, you should straight up ban people for not playing because the two are not comparable. You can at least mute someone flaming, but you can't replace a player purposely losing the game for your team. What an absolute joke the tribunal is.

The sort of behavior that you described is in no way considered acceptable, and, when it is confirmed by the system, it is punished with an immediate 14-day ban. It is definitely considered to be ruining a game, and it is definitely considered to be unacceptable.

I think pretty much everyone will fully acknowledge that this sort of behavior should, ideally, be faster and more reliably detected. The fact that that system needs some work, however, does not excuse other behavior that is also problematic and also punishable.

Option 3: both are equally harmful to the game

What an absolute joke the tribunal is.

It doesn't exist.

Neither is acceptable. Calmly report trolls and move on with your life. By flaming them, you break the rules and risk punishment, and you actively reward them by giving them exactly the reaction they're trying to provoke.

Not sure how you know the other guy wasn't punished, by the way. Feedback reports aren't guaranteed, and are in fact quite rare. They may be pending a manual review, too.

Riot doesn't care about inting or trolling. They only care if you harm their snowflakes with your naughty language.

They may as well remove the curse filter and mute buttons because they no longer serve a function, you can literally be banned for saying 'Fuck' too many times in this game lmfao.

Not typing or /muteall is neccessary these days, they have made chatting not worth the risks.

Offensive language is contributing to a loss

Chat should not be a punishable offense regardless, if they're going to keep the unnecessary chat function in the game. (Now that everything of note can be pinged, it serves no in-game purpose) They have long since removed public chat from the client.

Purposefully losing games, however, is "harder to detect." If you screenshot them actually saying they're inting, or send in the recording of the match, that'll be enough proof.

They are also worse than the most toxic thing in online gaming which is the habitual afk, dc and leaver who pretty much only gets a slap on the wrist, told to stand in the corner, or simply a timeout. Then after they serve their timeout they get to do it again and again and again.

Do you think what you did defused the situation at all?

Griefing is worse, but OBVIOUSLY way harder to confirm. They dont want to ban players for simply being bad at their game. Chat offenses are pretty cut n dry for most people. (Unfortunately for some, its not so cut n dry, and they kind of get the short end of the stick in that department) And its pretty simple to implement a system for it, unlike griefing.
