Riots ban and punishment priorities.

Riot does not have their priorities straight at all when it comes to their report and punishment system. Almost every game I get a AFK, someone who trolls and LITERALLY goes into my jungle to follow me and try to steal my buffs/camps, I get someone who just gives up who might as well be afk as they just stand in one lane and farm, and/or someone who runs it down and keeps dying. I ALWAYS keep these names down and make it a daily task to check to see if they ever get banned but they never do. They are just allowed to waste 9 other players time and LP. But nooooooo! I could literally say in ONE GAME to someone who literally kept saying "suck my d===, suck my d===, suck my d===, suck my d===" AND THE ONE TIME I TELL THEM THAT THEY NEED TO STOP FEEDING CAUSE THEY SUCK D===.... congrats your toxic, enjoy your chat restriction/ban

Now honestly thats not toxic. Nor do I think riot should heavily punish people like him as annoying as he is because I can just mute him. WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?! YOU CAN MUTE SOMEONE?!!?!? NO WAY!

Umm yes way, and if someone is annoying you it should be your responsibility to mute their chat. Spamming Ping? Well if you mute them right now I will throw in the mute ping button for free! What a deal!

Now I can completely understand any ban or punishment to someone saying sexist, racist, homo/hetro-phobic remarks, threatening to murder you, or to kill yourself (fun fact that suck my d=== player did this by telling me to drink bleach). You go Riot. Do your thing. But insulting someone shouldnt be a bannable offence, and not only that THE MOST PRIORITIZED thing you look for like the scummy b======= you are to ruin someones day just because they gotta deal with the 0/6 fiora who follwed you to your red, took your red, and cone blasted you into the enemy team. So you call them a C===.

Last of all Riot. I honestly think your logic is terrible or hypocritical. You say everyone has a bad game so when they troll you that one game it doesnt happen until another 20-30 games later so you decide to not ban them. Still doesnt mean they ruined a game now does it? You troll at all then you should be banned or severely punished period. But that logic of someone having a bad game doesnt apply to someone who gets trolled/greifed and so they decide to insult them to release frustration. Instant punishment. I dont know about you guys, but I would rather see my top laner call the bot lane garbage a 1000x then top lane follow in bots example by running it down tower as well or them leaving the game.

I'd love a response from a riot employee. But I honestly feel like they never care and/or willing to ever look at someone else's point of view.

Your entire argument seems rooted in your idea of "priority". But priorities are not about outcome, they are about effort.

The reason why the outcome of the system dealing with chat and the system dealing with griefing is vastly different is because text processing is a much much easier task. Frankly, I'd be surprised if Riot still put any effort apart from basic maintenance and supervision into the chat systems, let alone made it a priority by any meaningful definition of the word.

The hardest part of all of this, and why nobody's going to touch it with a 30 foot pole and just blindly downvote you for making a post that looks like a rant, is that there's a fair amount of gray area between "trolling" and "having a bad game" and the specifics of each can literally be argued from a million different angles, change in angle every hour, and never make any actual progress in defining the two apart with the exception of blatant trolling/inting.

That's also where I'm going to leave this, because as I said, we could literally spend the rest of this year arguing about whether x case is trolling or not, and how case y is relative to case x. Nobody's going to take that algebra course if they can help it, and even if they did, it won't change anything unless that person is a Riot employee, so there's really no point to it.

"lol lets down vote but not explain our own reasoning and have a civilized argument/debate for why I disagree with your point! Teeeheee im too good for you!" -Down Voters who dont leave comments. (and yes Ik it means im asking for more downvotes for making fun of ya)

What is it exactly you're hoping to get out of this post?

Riot has done research into verbal toxicity that shows players overall enjoyment of the game is lowered when someone is being toxic. They also have behavioral profiles on every single player and they track every single game. Toxicity spills over into subsequent games. It also tends to lead to actual griefing.

And at what point has flaming anyone ever made them play better? Which is going to be more likely to help:

  • Holy shit you're trash. Can you please stop fucking feeding your brains out?

or

  • Yikes, hang in there. Avoid dying if you can. I'm pretty strong and will try to roam.
