The Automated Reports/Bans are not Promoting Positive Play

I've simply noticed less people communicating in general, I would assume it is because of the report system. Then again, I've received Offensive Language in several games that I NEVER typed in. Sure, someone can this a "false report," but if that's the case, why was a notified before a human player reviewed it? Oh, that's right. Because the Tribunal is down and human review is no longer an option.

To be permanently banned for offensive language where there was not a curse word or offensive slur used is simply stating that players are not allowed to have an option or disagree with a "teammate." This goes against human nature. People complain. People argue. People fight. But then they eventually get over it and move on.

Which brings me another point I can't wrap my head around: Why does Riot's matchmaking system still match you with players you have reported and other blocked? Doesn't that defeat the point of reporting a poor player if they are just going to force you to play with him the next game and you have to pretend to be friendly with him knowing he doesn't communicate with the team?

The notification happens before the logs are reviewed. If you didn't do anything to warrant the report then you don't have to worry about it.

And I don't really think less people are talking, especially due to fear of punishment. Most games just always have very little chat, unless one or two people won't shut up (but that's usually because they are getting toxic).

They did away with stacking chat restrictions because the people that kept getting them simply refused to change, and if they couldn't be toxic in chat they start being toxic in their gameplay. A jerk you can mute is nowhere near as bad as one that knows he's muted so starts trolling to piss you off. Infinite chat restrictions just didn't work.

People might "move on" from one argument, but they've already caused problems with it, and if they didn't actually learn anything then they do it again and again and again. Just because you didn't curse doesn't mean you aren't ruining the game for other people.

They don't let you blacklist players from your matchmaking pool probably to prevent it from being abused. High elos could do this easily, as they see the same people quite often. Artificially controlling your matchmaking is unfair to the rest; if you're wanting to do it because they are "bad players", then you need to look at yourself first because you have the same MMR as them after all. Even Faker messes up sometimes.

Behavioral Alerts have always gone out without a human being reviewing the report. This was true even when Tribunal voting existed. Players asked for it. There was a push for Riot to give you a heads-up that you were being reported so you could change your behavior before it resulted in a Tribunal case. Riot resisted this at first precisely because they were afraid of people needlessly overreacting to the alerts, but ultimately decided that the good outweighed the harm.

People don't want to be abused, regardless of whether you use a naughty word or not. You do have the option to disagree with a teammate. You don't have the option to harass and verbally abuse them. There is a massive chasm between these two things, and if you are an adult, it is not hard at all to disagree or even argue without crossing over into insults.

The quality of the matchmaking algorithm would be compromised in a few ways if it had to take your blacklist into account. It's been discussed before.

S FUCKING IGH. Why do you think it's called a warning. It's notified based on frequency simply as a prehemptive measure, you know, statistics, the non-punishing measure is tuned very loosely so it triggers easily and you're sure to have been warned before having been punished. If you did nothing wrong, IGNORE the warning. You receive ten times more reports than warnings anyway and you don't worry about those that don't trigger the warning, so why should you worry about these?

If I was not talking in game for 5 consecutive games, but received a "Harrassment: Offensive Language" popup after 2 of those games, why is this valid? Please don't assume you understand how the system works when it is still "learning" player behavior as stated by Lyte on a few occasions. Do you have any proof to validate your claims?
