Why is the option to disable language filter even possible??

If people weren't able to type in swear words, that would actually solve a lot of these problems with people swearing their heads off. The fact that Riot actually lets you disable it, tells me they want to encourage that sort of behavior.

Some people don't mind cursing. Riot doesn't mind cursing.

So Riot made a filter that some people choose to disable.

You're going to have to be a bit clearer with what you're saying here, because I'm not exactly sure what the issue is.

Swearing isn't a problem, and Riot has stated that, as long as you're not spamming it and not levelling curses at other players, you're free to say whatever you want.

The Mature Language Filter is there for those who, for one reason or another, don't like to, or don't want to see mature language. Most folks (as far as I can tell) tend to just turn it off, since the majority (again, as far as I've seen) is fine with swearing, and Riot doesn't really care one way or the other if players swear.

"Oh fuck" and "Fuck you" have two completely different meaning.

Because we should have the choice to see what we are being called. No one wants to play a game full of censors. If you don’t like mean words, check the box. If you don’t care like most, don’t. Plus, that would allow people to be toxic without consequence. Even if you can’t see the slur doesn’t mean context doesn’t give it away. But if censored, how can you really ban someone?

So I can know if I'm being called a gay slur or a racial slur, duh.
