Repealing A Permanent Ban.

So on another discussion, I encountered several people claiming they had a permanent ban repealed. I don't want to be toxic in saying the wrong thing to them, but is this possible/has it ever happened? Also if it does, under what circumstances would a repeal be applied? Thanks.[zombie-brand-mindblown]

Infinite suspensions for the following reasons can be appealed successfully:

  • Accounts under lock for active investigation (unless the investigation finds toxic behaviour / proof for cheating/fraud)
  • Accounts suspended for accounting issues (once the issue is resolved)
  • Accounts suspended for reported as compromised/stolen (once legitimacy of ownership is established with support)

Permanent suspensions handed out for behavioural issues or cheating, cannot be appealed successfully, unless there was an error on riots end (for example, banned for toxicity, when nothing was written in the ingame chat, and there was no trolling).

In general, people banned for toxicity or cheating have no chance to get their account back.

There used to be a level 20 challenge to reform toxic players who riot handpicked thinking they seemed genuinely interested in reforming, but most of the players failed miserably so they completely scrapped the idea and no longer give anyone a second chance

Riot is horrible about caring about the fact that their broken system pits people against impossible odds in most situations, with incompetent teammates. It doesn't matter what happens because if you flame or get upset with anyone and receive the report, it is your fault for having human emotions. perhaps riot should consider reforming the ban system, or they can continue to lose players based on their shit system.

the only way of repealing a permaban is if it was issued in error.

A permanent ban (or any punishment for that matter) for behavioral reasons is only lifted if there was some form of error on Riot's end in issuing it. Errors do happen, though these cases are rather rare. However, if the ban itself was deserved, then Riot will not lift it.

To try an appeal a permanent ban, you would need to submit a support ticket.

I think some people might misunderstand what happens when they report that their account has been compromised/stolen. Riot will put a lock on the account, which will say that the account has been suspended when someone tries to log in, and then a lot of people flip out and think they've been banned because they reported that their account was stolen. When it's just a safety measure that Riot has in place to make sure that the actual owner of the account is the only one that ends up with control over it, and it ensures that the owner contacts support to verify the details. So some of those people might be thinking that they have gotten their bans overturned/appealed, when in reality, they weren't actually banned in the first place. Seems a bit odd, I know, but I've seen it come through the forums many times.

As far as legit ban appeals, the others have addressed that one. Negative ghostrider, the pattern is full.
