wow. what a journey that was. in the last 2 years i had several chat restrictions on this account, never a 14 day ban. my good behavior always saved my account from any real danger, yet the tilt of this game always stopped me from climbing.

what should i tell you? i've been on the boards for 3 years or so now, i know how the IFS operates pretty well, i read the rules (yeah i actually read them) i know what to avoid and yet i couldnt.

trolls, inters, afkers, people going unpunished with this behavior and literally tilting you to a point where you snap. maybe im a weak person, i dont know but i was never able to really mute someone and just ignore them behaving like idiots. obviously i finally got better at behaving myself but i tell you, the current system is really frustrating.

the system needs 3 things in my opinion

  1. obviously something needs to be done about trolls inters and afkers. that leaverbuster is doing shit. sure 5x20min is a lot of time but nothing that will stop someone who intentionall afks to ruin games.

  2. riot needs better ways to explain people the rules. im playing since mid season 2 and still to this day i cant play more than 3 games in a row without reading "report xy pls" clearly A HUGE PART of the community has no idea how the system works.

  3. better insight. most people know that stuff like kys will result in a 14 day ban. but if you read these like 10 times a week from 10 different people and you NEVER get any feedback on any sort of punishement, you start to lose faith in the system. yes i know there are people that dont care about these feedbacks, but others care a lot. is it really so hard to give us an option to turn them off completely or have them always show up when a person you reported within the last (idk 6 hours?) got punished? the system is a big reason why so many people are mad and let that out ingame. because why not? everyone else around you does it and they go unpunished apparently. 3.1 insight about honor ups. if you get reported valid but not enough to get punished, your honor progress can come to a total stop. BUT WITHOUT YOU ACTUALLY KNOWING SO!

the honor checkpoints that notify you whenever you cleared 25% towards the next honor up are a great thing. they make it feel like climbing isnt an impossible task.

thats my input. i struggled for 2 years to climb back to h2, while just playing the game "normally" in my view. lets hope i can finally get back to honor lv 4. yes i reached that before.

I agree, the system is fucked - Nothing tilts me more than reporting someone who deserves a perma ban and getting no feedback report on it. not even the person themselves tilt me to the point that seeing them go unpunished does.

I mean...... when will people realize that the toxic people are generally the ones who were punished before? They usually have a banned account already and have a personal vendetta against everyone and the main reason they do this is because they think its funny! people keep replying to them even!

The best thing you can do is Do Not Feed The Trolls. You are responsible for your own actions. You can choose to be upset and talk back or not. Me personally after over 8000 games and about 7-8 years or so of playing I have had a total of 2 chat restricts. Yes, 2. Fact is, if you mute the toxic people then you dont have to worry about them. Report them after game and when there is a more severe case then send in a ticket to Riot Support (like someone intentionally feeding by running countless times into enemy turrets, death threats/0 tolerance commentary, people trying to get around 0 tolerance, etc.)

Also listen to some music. Trust me, it helps.

And dont be a Cyberstalker. You do not know if they were actually punished or not.

From a discussion point of view:

  1. Are there really that many trollers, inters and afkers out there? I get an inter around 1 in 100 games and those afkers happen once every 10 games or so.

  2. The 'report xy' mind set actually started from the old timers, where the only way to get someone punished (or later, into the tribunal) was from mass reports. Ever since the IFS started in August 2015, report count was no longer a thing. But it is true that the education side was severely lacking.

  3. How can you recieve a punishment notification within 6 hrs if someone you reported was toxic enough to make the report valid, but not enough to get someone punished?
