Ranting, I admit I'm ashamed of being french sometimes

Yeah yeah yeah ok bois I'm french, and as you can see my english isn't perfect, but kinda developped enough to allow me to, hmm avoid speaking french and "pretend not to be one".

This, these are the only interactions in french I get from other french speaking players when I pretend to not understand it, and boy when I don't, it's a real flow of insults / flame coming at me. I know, I'm not the only one speaking a decent english, and I know a lot of them do the same as I do, and actually built some friendships with some of them. I'm totally ashamed to see such interactions coming from mostly french players. Yes, I also speak spanish and a little bit of german, and I barely see any interactions such as this one from players speaking these languages (yes it happens, but very rarely).

This makes me extremely sad to see this is the image french players give to others, and yes you can check some posts from these boards, a lot of them complain about "french players being toxic pieces of shit only speaking french and swearing in french".

I find this behavior totally coward, because it shows that you have absolutely no balls to actually insult someone in a language he can understand, when you clearly understand what has been said.

So yes here's my rant : It's so sad that sometimes I have to pretend not to be from this country because of behaviors like this. Don't hate on french players, hate on toxic players

As a German, i can relate.

Most random German Players i´ve met either only talked in German, or were salty consistly(not toxic).

The only times French players were standing out in my games included them feeding and flaming in the most absurd way.

I can't say players from my country (Germany) are any better though.

Every french player I ever came across just spews random insults at their teammates and when I notice and say "french" they litterally insult me w every french curse in the book.

It's true though. Tg is the first thing they'll respond to anything. There's a reason you try to speak english while they don't, they expect people to serve their needs.

I hate ending up in a team with like four spanish or german people too though. They'll be talking and i won't understand shit of it.

Well german and french i can somewhat decipher depending on the words used being belgian. Fuck if i'll reveal i'm from flanders though, i'll have to deal with them AND the dutch then.

the french and brazillian are pretty much known for flat out refusing to speak or even try to learn english, mandatory #noteveryone but you see more french and brazilians do it than anyone else hence they are most known for it

I'm not. Why would I? I'm not related to any of these monkeys that you're talking about. Toxic players are everywhere. It just takes different forms depending on the region. In NA, a common thing is to insult whoever says Hi or GLHF. So I stopped engaging in any kind of conversation. It's sad tho

I was sure the stigma on them was that they always leave you to die and join only when its a ks, I dont think someone care if they swear or not and the swearing stigma (non stop swearing ) is on Russian people anyways

I love being able to speak fluent French. A lot of people act surprised when they find that you know exactly what they mean.

Whenever I see someone talk in a language that is not English or Chinese, I type "Do not speak Chinese, you illiterates. This is NA."

Insults in the French language are more varied and used much more liberally and frequently. It's a different meaning when someone says it to another. I have to say though, I have yet to see a french person use "kys" or the french version as an insult. I'm not sure I'd classify them as worse as very rarely to they cross into the immediate 14 day ban period. I suppose "PD" could do it but even then.

You know, I originally started playing on the NA servers because I had some friends playing there, when many of them moved on from LoL I moved back to the EU. For about 2 weeks until I realized that the language situation there was horrible, so I just moved back to NA. It might solve your problem. It's 120-140 ping most of the time, not really a big deal. Once every 100 games some French Canadian guy starts writing in French, that's about how much of that there is on NA.
