What is the average IQ of a league player? Do people now a day have lower IQ or higher?

IQ is meaningless.

It measures a very specific set of skills (rather than attributes) and tends to be focused on abstract academic concepts, which makes it biased by design.

I got out of a match where a self-rightous back seat player spent the entire game dictating to me how I was "Allowed" to build and telling me how if I went into ranked it would be considered "greifing" and I would be "immediately banned" This despite me reminding her riot does not enforce meta and that I was actually helping the team win (I was 6/1 at the time as senna support) But she still spent the entire game calling me greifing because I wasnt building strictly "damage". that I had my own build strategy (which she didnt approve of, therefore it fell into the "Greifing" catagory)

My playstyle doesnt need strictly damage, as its more of a "Death by 1000 papercuts" style. Poke-heavy, repeated assault, chip away and dont let them escape, then finish them off when they are low and trying to run. But these low IQ meta puritans want to spend more time beating you over the head demanding you "build proper" (by proper, they mean what THEY deem proper) than actually playing the damn game. Cant have people playing by thier own strategies or coming up with thier own un-approved builds. That would be bad!

Well, any time you have a population sample size going into hundreds of thousands if not millions, the average will be very close to 100. Any significant deviation would require a much smaller sample or would need to single out individuals who are more likely to fall within a specific range on the spectrum.

The problem is, if you ask people, probably around 99% (if not 100% flat out) believe themselves to be much more intelligent than average. If we did a poll, probably everyone who responded would claim to have an IQ of 120 or higher, and probably more than half would claim to have 150 or higher. I think this is reflected in the way most people go into games assuming they're better than everyone else, and that anything that goes wrong can't possibly be a problem with their own gameplay and must be because of broken/OP enemy champs, "cheese", or the incompetence of their teammates.

i somewhere once read that a monkey repeats the same mistake at worst 3 times. my time in bronze/silver i can tell... about 75% there have a lower IQ than a monkey.
