Just got a suspension for this !

So i just got smoked in my game..top fed, mid fed...but my entire team was ganging up on me. the other team was flaming me hard in all chat trying to get a rise out of me. then all of a sudden my team tells every one to report me and now i have a 14 day suspension..for this chat...thanks riot for perpetuating a victim culture where any one can just say someone harassed them and they get banned. You weren't punished because someone claimed you harassed them. The system investigated your behavior because someone claimed you harassed them. You were punished because you did harass them. You argued with your team the entire time, calling them "bronze," "clown," "garbage," "dweeb," "piece of shit," telling them they "must lead sad ...weak lives," announcing how you reported them, and so on.

Which means you had two prior punishments, which I'd wager were for the same offense or just general flaming. Either way, you knew this behavior wasn't acceptable but you're still doing it under the guise that it's justified because other people flamed you first.

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. Mute people who give you a hard time and then report them at the end of the game.

Or they're trying to create an environment where nobody should flame and they're not treating you as a "victim" since you're guilty of the exact same thing the flamer was guilty of.

Bottom line is that you're responsible for your behavior. If you can't control yourself when someone is giving you a hard time, you're going to get another punishment and it will be a permanent ban, no matter how severe you think it is.

You getting harassed is not what banned you, it was your behavior in retaliation.

Retaliation is different than defending yourself. Defending yourself would be muting them.

If you have a problem with someone's behavior you report them. That's it. You don't use the existence of the report feature to try to one up them, you don't insult them back, and you don't continue the blame game. You just report them.

You're responsible for your behavior just as they are responsible for their's. If you've recently been off a 25-game chat restriction I can see this getting you a 14-day ban.

First off, you're not defending yourself here, you're retaliating: there's a difference.

Second off, from Ulanopo's Knowledge Base:

“I should be allowed to speak however I like to people who started it or are griefing me.” “I was provoked or taunted. I should be allowed to defend myself.” “Why did you vote to punish me when others were behaving worse?”

You should know that Riot specifically instructs jurors to ignore most of the conduct of people in a case other than the accused. The reason for this is rather simple: rather than one person causing trouble, you now have two – or more. In my more cynical moments, I have phrased it thus:

Timmy, Tommy and Sarah are trapped in an elevator. Timmy loses his temper and soils himself. Tommy gets angry at the smell and decides to retaliate by soiling himself. Now Sarah is trapped with two smelly idiots. Don’t be Timmy or Tommy. Stop ****ing your pants.

An informal poll of the Tribunal regulars shows that most jurors are willing to excuse a certain amount of response to someone who is attacking you, but that it isn’t considered an excuse for you to become toxic in response. You get MAYBE one or two lines of response. Anything more than that and you’re part of the problem.

This is punishable by itself but then you kept going on and on and on harassing people, "pointing out" things, and being a general jerk.
