Is it toxic to say "report (x) for no skin", even if it is intended as a joke?

I've been playing league for a while now and I've noticed that alot people say this as a joek and sometimes i even say it. Personally i think it's quite a funny way to start a game, however in a recent game of mine a friend and I started the game off with this statement to our support Xerath(wtf?). The enemy team even said it to their own teamates. Yet our xerath proceeded to throw bot lane and called my friend and i toxic. What are your opinions on this?

I used to do it all the time, you aren't doing it to harass, you are probably fine.

How is that any different from me getting banned playing with a fellow player and saying noob? When both parties engaged in a friendly act of shit talk. System don't give a shit about the context. Its just looking to punish.

Absolutely not. If you think this is toxic you should not play online games.

I would say this is fine as long as the person you are saying it to has a very clear idea that it is a joke. In my opinion, if the person you are “harassing” thinks that it is not a joke, and what you said does break the rules then that person can react appropriately. Though for your game with the xerath I think that it is a little overkill for the xerath to throw bot lane.

Doubt it.

I think xerath was hyper defensive because of his stupid pick, so he was just anticipating flame and being overly sensitive/defensive. That's going off the very limited information you've provided. I'm sure theres details you left out. That always seems to be the case with people and toxicity.
