Less punishment for having bad teammates

There's nothing more aggravating than having bad teammates in ranked, so why must the rest of the team members be punished so much LP for incompetence?

Now I'm not going to say I'm the best League player, about average just trying to grind my way up little by little and learning the different mechanics and team play. However, as of lately I've getting a lot of unpleasant teammates. Those who simply don't want to listen to the rest of the team to the usual toxicity that arises from game. I'm not exaggerating when I say the number of times I've had terrible teammates was astronomically higher than when I get good teammates. I do my best to win my laning phase and help in team fights. In the end, I'm being punished quite harshly for a loss. One of my most recent ranked games my team was left with an unfortunate player Captain Lose Elo who kept disconnecting and reconnecting the entire game. Leaving us outmanned and unable to do a remake.

Yea, I get it, sometimes it's just unavoidable and I should just shut up and get over it since it's just a game. You have to understand though that it's unfair and most importantly just makes the game terrible to play.

Wouldn't that be heavily abused?

Imagine having a duo using one of their partners purposely throw the game repeatedly just to minimize the loss.

People are already saying things like "gg, game's done" when they are set back by a bit. I don't want people in my games throwing more just to minimize their partner's loss when they can just farm for late to win the macro game later.

  1. How do you measure “competence” in an objective way?

  2. Should the enemy team also gain less LP when the enemy has incompetent players on it?

  3. Would you accept losing more LP when you have a bad game just because someone thought that bad game was indicative of your incompetence?

I like the level of how you take responsibility for something that is not in your control. And accept that some things are out of your control but honestly I disconnected for 3 minutes in my first placement game of this season and even though we won it was counted as a loss for me smh

It's a team game. You win as a team or lose as a team. If you're that concerned over the skill level of your teammates (and want some sort of confidence on how well they play) you can get 4 of your friends to queue with you.

If they expect rank to mean anything anymore they are going to have to start basing it a lot more on individual performance. Using an Elo system for a team game is absurd to begin. Those who play extremely poorly (or are trolling) will need to incur massive LP losses and so they can be quickly sent down to the lowest ranks, while those who manage to play remarkably well despite the inability of the rest of their team must have their losses mitigated or perhaps even gain some LP even if they lose. They have all kinds of metrics they use. There is no reason why they can't do this.

Also, this promotional series nonsense has to finally go.

Name and shame is against forum rules.

Asides from that, you honestly just have to deal with it. There isn't really a feasible system design that won't also fuck over innocent people.

the problem is you look only at your team and not the enemy team.

i had tons of games where i legit did not have to do anything to win some of those are ranked.

also theres no way to tell if X player deserve less or more points loss someone could dc/reconnect but is doing better then everyone else someone can have bad score due to match up. someone can get good kda/farm but throw/dont know how to end ect ect theres many factors.

someone could be 0/20/0 but do a massive play that win the whole game. anything can happen and it would be unfair to take scores when theres only 1 way to win.
