Smurfing

Why isn't smurfing a punishable offense? It ruins the chance of other players (specifically new) the chance to get anywhere and causes players to want to quit and move on to another game. It's depressing seeing these smurfs ruin the ranked system specifically just ranked. I want to get back to gold tier where I belong, but then I get to go against boosters and smurfs. Then from time to time I will have trolls on my time ruining my experience. What a waste of time to play this game if nothing but tryhards ruining the fun.

Acting like you've never got a smurf on your team. Always got to make a excuse for why you're not at a certain rank. Keep pulling the victim card buddy

All they're going to give you is the "statistically you should get [xxxxxxxx]" arguments. The Elo-Rating System itself is just bad, even for chess in 1v1, and there are PLENTY of articles as to why the system lacks integrity (and if it requires HUNDREDS of games in CHESS to reflect the TRUE rating of someone who is rated WAY off their TRUE rating then it requires THOUSANDS in a 5v5 setting to do likewise).

The main issue has to do with the fact that points are based on what ratings you're playing against, and how it is actually NOT rewarding to play against similarly rated or lower-ranked players than you, because you're punished HEAVILY for losses, whilst perhaps only getting a HANDFUL of points for wins, and QUEUE-DODGING is how I "farmed" the LP I needed to stop being DEMOTED into fucking BRONZE (and THAT was ENTIRELY because of TWENTY fucking feeding teams in a ROW who FOUR-MAN SURRENDER-VOTED even when I was fed). TWO times this season for that matter (yes, DEMOTED into fucking BRONZE, MORE than ONCE this season, because SOME-HOW the match-maker decided that I should CONSISTENTLY be matched into teams who COULD NOT FUCKING STAY ALIVE FOR MORE THAN TWO MINUTES and would die 45x in less than 10 minutes followed by Four-Man-Surrendering).

The system of Elo is BAD and all of that Smurfing/Boosting/etc., has actually caused a DEFLATION in True-Rating Scores, resulting in a LOT of "strong" players inaccurately rated BELOW where they SHOULD be rated (and this IS admitted & described even from CHESS-Analysts who've SEEN these problems for themselves in the 1v1 version of Elo in Chess... THAT should say something about the INTEGRITY of using it in a 5v5 system).

I know tons of people who got out of bronze because they realize that they get smurfs too... Smurfing isn't bad and all the good smurfs don't even get placed in bronze, they got straight to high silver or gold if they have a plat main typically. Also you being fed is a joke of a reason not to surrender. Unless you can 1v5 their FED team, you being fed is worthless. Just get a better mentality or you will stay in low elo.

One time I got carried I said to a higher ranked friend, "thanks for the carry." He said, "Yeah, but you know how to be carried." You have to know how to recognize that player on your team who can win the game, and let them win it. This means helping them, paying attention to their shotcalling, and most importantly, not feeding. Playing not to die when someone on your team can carry is the thing to do. This is because the opposing team might also see who can carry, and go after the other weaker players. Keeping the enemy team from being fed helps you get carried.

Smurfs are so few and far between. Most of what you mentioned is punishable (boosting and trolling).
