Can I be banned for this?

So today I was playing a rough game. I was Lissandra mid lane and my lane opponent was Zed. Zed went bot lane, I pinged. He killed the Kalista and then she started spamming pings on me. She was upset that I didn't follow him, kinda understandably. I then regrettably called her an idiot. She continued to rage at me for the next couple of minutes and then I just got tired of it so I told her "Taric is good, but you suck" and then I muted her. I wasn't thinking about my actions. I regret them and I feel bad about it. I am not sure if I was reported, but I know that if I was reported is would have been Kalista that did it.

I guess I am just worried because I know that the ban system has changed and is a lot more strict now.

This instance will be marked against your account and taken into consideration with any further toxicity. If this is not typical behavior from you, I'm sure you will not be punished based on this incident alone. A punishment is handed out when someone shows consistent, or excessive toxicity. This is not excessive, and if it is not consistent either, then your account is safe, I'm sure. Just don't make a habit of it.

I don't think it's ban worthy since you didn't continue the negativity from what you told me. It could depend on what your past punishments were. If you've never gotten punished, chances are you won't. If you did get punished before there is a chance that game adds up to another 2 games so be careful starting from now.

You should just mute players like Kalista next time.

From the sound of it, it might possibly contribute to a temporary chat restriction (assuming there was enough to be considered toxic), but it wouldn't be the sole cause of one. You'd need a couple more games of being reported for toxic behavior.
