its literally come to the point of me posting on this site because im so irritated at the fact that ive gone from s2 trying to climb out of this elo hell back down to s5 because the people of riot likes to match me with absolute idiots in every promos i get and THEN some after the fact i fail my series. ive gotten into my series THREE times today JUST to get back into silver 4 and both games have been failed because i seem to get matched with people who either want to feed or go afk mid game. im to the point of no return.

Statistically, if you were better than the ELO you're in, you'll climb.

It means that it's guaranteed you'll be a 'good' player in the game you're playing.

You take up one of the spots on your own team, leaving 4 spots left for potential trash players.

The enemy doesn't have you as a guaranteed good player, in fact, they have no guarantee for a good player at all.

This means that there are 5 spots left for potentionally trash players.

Even if we assume that there is 100% chance for each spot on your team to have a trash player, we have to assume the same is true for the enemy team. Your team has 4 trash players and 1 good player, while the enemy team has 5 trash players.

If you try to tell me that Riot is intentionally picking you to match you with trash, keep in mind that it's most likely because you yourself isn't that good.

If you try to tell me that you're a good player but Riot is picking on you, that's some crazy conspiracy shit, I can't deal with that!

Yeah... that's gonna happen. When there's only two options; win and lose, youre gonna run into every pattern imaginable. 6 wins, 2 losses, 10 wins in a row, followed by 5 losses. 1 win followed by 10 losses. It's just the nature of the game. You're gonna lose a lot and win a lot in streaks and not in streaks. It happens to everyone. I was s1 at one point this season... then I dropped to s4, climbed back up to s2 where I am now. I might just fall right back down, who knows. And that's why 5v5 games are so frustrating. When I played starcraft I only did 1v1s because I hate being let down by a team member. As well as I hate letting them down.

I was diamond league when sc2 first came out, and way back in sc1 I would place high in starcraft dream tournaments (3rd, 5th, 9th, and then stopped playing). And yet here i am in the second lowest division in a game with very similar mechanics. It's not all because of my team though obviously I had a lot of new things to learn. The skill level isn't gonna transfer 100%.

I guess just keep playing and working on yourself. I know it feels pointless when no matter how good you are, you could still lose because the rest of your team gets outplayed. But that's just up to you on whether you want to continue playing a game like that with strangers who could be slightly worse or better than you.

have you tried duo queuing? people say that it helps in lower elos and then shafts you in higher elos. i'm not at 30 yet but i'm trying to see the best way to rank up before I hit 30
