Teammate banning your pick in dynamic queue

Looking for thoughts on this.

Had a player on my team choose a role and pick their preferred champion as normal. Another teammate decided to ban that champion because they said the player didn't have a good overall record in ranked.

I thought this was pretty dirty since the champion the original player wanted wasn't a popular ban.

How is the person supposed to improve their record if the champ they are most experienced at playing gets banned?

I personally have a horrible ranked record but I like dynamic because i get to consistently practice the role I want to hopefully improve.

Would piss me off if someone banned that champ because they somehow felt by denying me my most skilled champ that it would give our team a better chance to win.

Anyone have any feedback?

Ive seen alot of people not declare a champion for this reason. You could always troll a little if it happens to you and see if you can get them to dodge i guess but that could be a little childish depending on how you do it.

Example: one time i declared lux mid and i was first pick. Some guy on my team banned lux so i locked in urgot. He got pissy and i told him urgot is legit my next best mid after lux. He dodged.

I had a similar situation, thd adc chose Ezreal but the mid laner banned him saying "I don't like Ezreal adc in my team, he is not an adc" That was really childish.

I guess in those situations you can't really do anything, you could get the chance to improve next match, even though it makes a bitter environment because of that behavior :/.

I dunno, this hasn't happened to me yet. I guess you could always put in a fake pick intent.

Sometimes it makes sense if say they are a power pick: DrMundo Jax just as two example as of late. But say you are first pick and you BOTH have the champions you want to play in certain roles, you pick it for them and they pick for you so you two can trade later. They still get the power pick if it wasn't banned (and if they are not in the first pick of the game), and you still get the champion you want for your role. That is why the trade part of draft mode exists.

I think I'm going to go with the not declare champ option. I've seen a lot of people do it too but figured they didn't get around to it but it makes sense they didn't choose so their champ wouldn't likely get banned.

I completely understand someone banning a mundo or jax if someone declared those champs but in this case it was a champ nobody ever bans (although I can't remember which).

Never saw anyone ever ban a teammates declared champ tho so thought it was a dick move.

They improvre by not picking them in a ranked game? Improve by going to play normals.

they need to make it impossible to ban the champs your teammates what to play. I made a post about this as well. It's bullshit. Thats the one and only complaint I have about the draft. I've just started dodging every game where my team does that shit. Hell last night 2 people on my team banned the champs 2 other people on the team wanted to play.

This happened to me last night. I was last pick. Pre-selected my champion. Our Mid, with 1st ban dumps my champ. Says, "That Champ always gives up 1st blood, learn to play another champion". I happen to have a 70% win rate ranked with the champ.

I was legit pissed and let him know. He flames me some more. I shouldn't have, but I then selected Soraka Top. I (I am ashamed to admit) purposefully give up 1st blood as fast as I can and type "Ooops, I guess you were right about me" in team chat. Then I settle in to play vs Ekko Top as Soraka.

Long story short, I went 2.57 KDA, he went 2.50 KDA as Veigar Mid. We win. I report him.

You should get a free dodge in that case because this is intentional griefing.

When people do that, and i have a ban i do it to the person who did it to me, or someone else on the team.

If i dont have a ban i look up the lowest win rate champion for my role, autoloxk, say "this champ has the lowest win rate in top, and first time fr me xD"

never reveal the champion you want to pick.

If you never reveal the champ you pick Zed , what if they ban it before you even pick it?

Trolling Singed7/5/2016, 2:31:46 AM1 votes

they laterally just ban your champ cause the want to troll or be funny or something like that but you can just win, everyone will report you and no one will be nice to you whats the point. anyway i just dodge and start again

Simple. Pick nothing or something stupid.

Like I got mid and "pick intended" Soraka. What are they gonna do, ban Soraka? Ha!
