The Inefficiency of the Tyler1 Fiasco

Tyler1 is still playing this game. Tyler1 is still releasing League related content. All that banning him indefinitely did was bring him more publicity. He's probably the richest kid at his university, to be honest. I'm not too sure where the community as a whole stands on the issue, as Riot Socrates' post is currently at -3.9K downvotes.

tl;dr

Tyler got more viewers/donators and is continuing to do so, while playing the game at the same time. Riot got more criticism.

And...what's your point? It highlights the fact that Riot does not want to promote toxicity. Players that watch Tyler1 enjoy watching him troll games, AFK, and intentionally feed if things do not go his way, even though he is a good player mechanically. Not only does this ruin the games (and rank) of his teammates, it sends a message to players that if they, too, stream and are toxic and feed, they can also make money off of Twitch! What a great message to send to a bunch of teenagers, right?

He needed to be banned and he needs to stay banned so this behavior does not multiply.

Riot does not care if he makes money, nor do they care if he streams non-League of Legends content. They are not Twitch. They just do not want toxicity to breed throughout their game and dissuade casual players from playing.

It still boggles my mind with his fanboys that the only thing that got him ban (in their eyes) was that he was toxic. They never bring up that he intentionally fed (there is video evidence of this) buying accounts (which is against the ToS) as well as the fact that this didn't happen once or twice, but over 10 times. I mean I get if you enjoy him, but I highly doubt you would have wanted him in your game if he harassed you and cost you to lose LP all because he is throwing a temper tantrum. Because the same people complaining about him getting ban are basically the same who want riot to actually do something about people like Tyler1. You cannot have him still acting like a child in this game, yet want Riot to handle afk/feeders/trolls.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I took a glance at his past broadcasts to see if he's actually streaming himself playing the game.

He's not.

His broadcasts are him spectating and/or commenting on game replays.

It's impossible for Riot to completely prevent him from playing the game. But I haven't seen evidence that he's streaming himself playing the game, so the enforcement still stands and he's aware of it.

I thought whichever account is shown on his stream will be immediately banned.

It's funny, the bans got him more publicity and he still get's over 10k viewers every time he streams. He can sit there watching other peoples games and get paid over $100 an hour to sit there and critique their play.

Riot failed tbh. They made it easier for him to make money while driving popularity to himself.

He can still play, can still make hundreds of dollars an hour off the game, and still has his fanbase.

Riot is pathetic. Flexing on twitch, trying to use it's influence to get people banned. "permabanning" players who have reformed. And as a whole, just not accomplishing anything. What if instead of wasting time ghosting streams to decide if people are banworthy or not, riot actually fixed their game.

What if instead of fixing "toxicity" trying to accomplish an impossible task. They focused on something that would be possible. They're literally wasting time trying to fix toxicity because it will not happen.

But I guess: Monitoring peoples behavior and punishing them for slight insults in a game>actually making the game balanced.

Money>all guys

There really isn't anything Riot can do to stop him. IP bans don't work and as long as Tyler blurs out the names, there is no real way to know what account is his. All the ban really did was stop him from live streaming on twitch, which seems more of just a PR move at this point.
