Toxic Behaviour in League of Legends

Hi,

I'm writing a exam paper about toxicity in online gaming and has chosen to have my primary focus on League of Legends and other eSport titles. I'm comparing the competetive nature of games like LoL/Dota/CS:GO to normal sports like football/soccer. How anonymity affects behaviour in a competetive environment apposed to actually seeing your opponents in real life. I have made a little survey to collect data for my paper and would really appreciate if you took your time to answer. Feel free to start a discussion in the comments as well, I need all the data I can get.

Thanks in advance!

A couple of your questions will change depending on how often a person plays. Your first, third, and forth questions are based on timeframes (once a week, once a month, etc), which would cause the answer to vary depending on how often they play even if the ratio is the same. I would recommend you keep the scope to be based on how often they play (as you partially did in the first question).

Your second question will also seem like a loaded question to those that play exclusively either normals or ranked.

How would you define toxicity? Is this what you're trying to find out?

I'm interested in how deep you're going into each game (for example) what people consider to be "toxic" or just trash talk - Seems like a good idea :D

So you chose league. What does that say to our community lol. Anyway, good luck on your paper.

I mean, even in athletic sports there is trash talking, and the like. It's just part of competitiveness.

I feel just because of the anonymity of the internet though, people say far crueler things, due to the lack of physical repercussion.
