My opinion on the punishment system, feedback after survey

Recently some of us have been asked to fill out a survey. The survey was mostly about ways to improve the game. Some of the questions were about behaviour, punishments and rewards. I figured I would give my opinion on the matter since I've been playing this game since season 1 and have recently received my first pentaly.

To give some context about the situation: I was in a promo game and 3 teammates were flaming in the worst way possible for the entire game. I lost my cool and said some things that I instantly regretted. I got a week long ban, fair enough. You'd argue the week long ban would be sufficient. Riot does not think so though. You are dropped to honor level 0, which is kind of a harsh punishment since I had been the highest honor level since they introduced the system. For me the climbing back to honor level 2 took about 2 months. I got honor level 2 a few days after the season ended. I did not get the season rewards cause of this. Futhermore my friends were talking about the clash. I could not join cause of my honor level being too low. On a last note I now get placed with other people that have low honor levels, meaning my games have become insanely more toxic. You can tell by everyone on your team not having a border in the loading screen.

During these years I think I've sunk over a 1000 euros in the game, because I liked it and I wanted to support the company. So the punishments made my jaw literally drop. A company that I'm supporting by contributing punishes it's players in such a harsh over the top way. It changed the way I personally view Riot and I have not decided if I want to continue playing the game cause of the company.
