Getting really tired of league's approach to toxicity and behaviour

I've been playing league for years, I don't remember exactly how many but it's been a long time and I've come to the conclusion that the way it deals with toxicity is genuinely terrible. We have this snowflake approach which for some reason Riot thinks makes sense but in reality it serves no purpose other than to usually punish people incorrectly and let the guilty ones walk away.

I am curious, how many people actually think the current reporting system works or is effective? here's what i see. I see a game where it is becoming almost as politically correct, snowflake sensitive as corporate life. A few hours ago I got punished with a 10 chat ban because I told a griefing jungle to fuck off before muting him.

Apparently that was enough to get me a punishment. That was my first punishment since I've had the account and it got me thinking. Is this genuinely how the game should be policed? It's a game. People are going to grief and people are going to respond likewise. For all the years that the Tribunal has been around and this stupid reporting system with it, has it really benefitted League? I would argue it hasnt. League was a lot more fun and a lot nicer years ago before we had the reporting system we have today.

What's changed? hyper competitiveness coupled with an utterly abysmal ELO system that matches up people with seemingly entirely different skillcaps which causes people to rage, which in turn causes people to retaliate and the price of that retaliation? a hyper sensitive system of supposed justice and punishment except it doesnt seem to be making any difference. The community continues to get more toxic and the enjoyment of the game itself continues to decline.

Isn't time we re-think this system?

So.. you think that a room full of strangers shoudn't be expected to be polite and respectful to each other, even in times of disagreement?

The first sign of a dysfunctional team and loss of team dynamics is when people start insulting each other - at all. I don't care if you think the other person is a bumbling fucking idiot. There is absolutely no reason to be toxic to them in corporate world or in League when you're all working towards the same goal. That's not "politically correct, snowflake sensitive" - it's called being a decent person and not being a complete (expletives here).

Yeah, that's blunt - but maybe it's the way to get the point across to you? You seem to think it's all about "political correctness" when that refers more to social issues such as marriage, abortion, etc (and other topics, all of which are not appropriate to discuss here). It does not refer to "being a good person" - because that has been not only a factor but a staple and a trait that has been held near and dear for centuries, if not longer. It is not a new concept to be a decent human being and to not be an asshole to others. That is not "politically correct" - it's normal.

You'll find no support for such an idea on this Board.

They should try and work more on being positive and trying to nicely explain players they need to not be toxic etc rather than giving away bans in order to punish people. I received a 2 week ban months ago and am absolutely convinced that it had no effect on my attitude. On the other hand, talking about the ban with a rioter who was polite and explained stuff in a nice manner certainly made me want to be a better person in game.

Also, the honor system isn't very encouraging, ive only climbed up to honor lvl 1 2/3 since October despite drastically improving on my attitude and tilting far less. I gain a good amount of honors but I don't climb.

Oh and there's some of the higher honor lvl people saying ''you deserved it'' and all. Of course we deserved it if we fell this low, but isn't it obvious most of us want to climb back up and improve on our attitude?
