I get chat banned but my flaming team gets away with it?

I think the honor system is fundamentally flawed. Last season I was honor 5 and after one game at end of season I got heated and asked a teammate to stop feeding in a less than optimal way I get reported and chat restricted resetting me from most honorable to not even able to receive honor. That's a bit harsh oh and no rewards. Then this season rolls around and after an entire season of receiving probably hundreds of honors I only make it to level 2 tier 2. Felt like to me I was receiving honor at a slowed rate and still being punished!?! On top of all this one of my most recent game I playing normal draft nothing special and wanted to play Xerath support, really doesn't seem to unusual I hovered it and everything no one speak up. I lock it and my bot lane teammate flames me before the game even starts. The continually flames me throughout the game after making extremely simple mistake dying 6 times in a row and feeding the enemy Jhin. But she continues to talk in chat flaming me and turning the entire team against me although I'm not the problem here and I was quite for a majority of the game, I ask her to stop chatting and play the game, and no it was in the nicest manner but that was all. After this I get chat banned again with no warning. You have a real way of punishing players riot not only with your lousy tracking of what honor actually means to a player to your unnecessary punishment of the honorable and totally relaxed position of toxicity. But hey whatever the more people who quit because of your oversight the better I'm really sick of it.

I've had this happen to me while I was asking in a nice manner and my adc was the one feeding. Defending yourself is like "toxic" but if you say nothing a lot of the time you're going to receive more reports.

I feel like Riot says they're okay with trying new and off-meta things but secretly punish you for it regardless of how much effort you put into following the Summoner's Code.

Lol ive been wanting to play xerath support for so long but I just feel too bad doing that to a stranger.. and none of my friends play adc. How did it go? Bad im guessing? Fucked up his cs more than a few times? Missed your one skillshot cc and lost some fights? Those are the reasons i havent done it yet. And considering you did have the gall to do that to some random person, you should have at least expected and ACCEPTED the flame. I would have said "i know i know, im sorry, had to try it" lol. Something like that. I wouldnt ask them to stop flaming me when im the asshole who picked xerath support.

Anyways, post chat logs if you want to hear opinions and reasons why Riot would punish you.

I'm sorry some flaming teammates baited you into a report, that is never fun! Going forward, your best bet is to mute anyone when they give the slightest bit of negativity, so you wont be compelled to get drawn into their conversation! :)

How do you know they didn't get chat banned as well? The punishment doesn't happen during the game that finally triggers it, it happens afterwards. I doubt you're regularly queuing up with these players since you aren't friends, so you wouldn't know if they got hit with a restriction after the fact.

Just think its funny that this comes out now and there hasn't really been any buffs to Xerath, and once again not saying his the best, but I'll be damned if you can say he isn't viable when its peoples literal job to analyze the game and say otherwise.
