Toxic behaviour - not enough is being done.

I've been playing League for a few years now - mostly to have fun with friends honestly. This season I decided to try my hand at ranked and honestly the amount of anxiety I faced going into it was incredible. Purely because I know how toxic this community is. I got over it fairly quickly and I enjoy the competitive aspect of ranked and the joy of climbing. However the amount of toxicity in this game is ridiculous and it just ruins my game experience. I've got low level accounts in every other game claiming to be smurfs and the minute things don't go their way they int feed and claim they're God's gift to League of Legends. I've got people slinging out curses on people's families (which is beyond disgusting) and wishing death on others. The list goes on. I report all the extreme cases, the definite inting, the horrific use of words. I get no indication those people ever get punished or banned and a couple games later it happens again. I don't like seeing this on my team of course, but I also hate it when it happens on the enemy team because I know what they're going through! But the amount that this happens and continues to happen is astonishing. I've tried playing at different times of the day, straight up playing a stupid amount of games to try and make up for the free losses... It simply should not just be 'part of the game' or something I should 'get used to'. I shouldn't have to /mute all every game because I expect at least one of the 9 people to be abusive and disgusting. Reports should actually do something.

I want to win games of course, everyone does, but I also want to lose games. But I don't want to lose because someone on my team inted or gave up at 5 minutes and on the other hand I don't want to win to that too. If I win, I want to feel like we worked well as a team and simply outplayed the enemy team. The same works the other way round I want to feel like I've been outplayed. Oh well, I learn from it and move on to the next game. I don't want to feel like there was nothing I could have done and just have to move on from it. I don't want my ranked games to be luck. Luck should never play a factor in a game like this and especially should not be down to player attitude.

It's not even just low elo, even from spectating high elo games or watching content creators (see HuzzyGames) they have all been experiencing all the same things. Even with this stuff being displayed on the internet on YouTube and Twitch nothing is done.

Please sort it out. A game that has been around and been developed for this long should have a much better report and punishment system than it currently has. It is heavily outdated and should be way stricter. If you have a problem with it, maybe you're part of the problem.

Well stamping out toxicity should always be a priority.

I'm fairly free when it comes to to reporting. I lost count on how many "thanks for the assist" messages I received from riot. Maybe less then 10 but I bet it's close.

Mute all every game period. You do not need to chat. Show intent with pings.

At the start of most games I type

"Nothing personal. I mute all every game, need me? Ping me."

I report peeps for what appears to be feeding and pre, post game toxic behavior, and afks.

The system is working.

If you don't mute all and justify it with some kind of lame excuse why you don't mute all, like "communication for the team..."or you play for the "social" aspect, then realize and accept you will encounter assholes along the way. Just be sure to report every single one.

I concur! But this summoner e boolis me by playing jhin on my team and does better then me (m7jhin btw) smfh. Just give her prestige kai’sa already. insert meme about riot not punishing players correctly

Serious note tho, throught the years I’ve played I’ve experienced the same behaviour and even in normals, where we play as a premade more often then not, I definitely recall at least a few T O X I C players ruining what would otherwise be a fun game for us as a premade of 4 or whatever

Ranked it’s worse, what sometimes is just a cesspool of negative attitude, feeders and just straight up toxic behaviour that doesnt get punished correctly leads to a serious drop in my will to play and what not.

I disagree with verbal toxicity being a problem. People just need to learn to mute/ignore and just play the game accordingly. I would even say the system should be less strict on verbal toxic cases.

MUTE and it goes away. I wish I could mute the habitual afk's, leavers and dc's because those are the worst toxicity in gaming, period.

RIOT has their heads so far up though that they treat those with slap on the wrist timeouts.

Those are the only 2 they can actually prove yet the worst one isn't punished severely at all.

It's very easy to say mute and the problem goes away. But what happens when the troll sells their items for 6 tears or follows you around the entire map taking all your cs and resource or better yet intentionally runs it down?

There is only so much we can do to prevent the game from being ruined by others, where is Riot in all of this?
