This game NEEDS to be fixed.

We all know it... League isn't exactly known to have the best community in the world. The game relies so heavily on teamwork and communication that oftentimes winning a game (especially ranked) can come down to whether or not everyone is paying attention to chat. Because of this, toxicity is a legitimate issue. Riot doesn't seem to care much about it, but it's honestly whats breaking the game. Riot has to understand that many of the new accounts being made are smurfs, and people are being discouraged from the game. So many people have quit because of how easy it is to mess up someone else's day in game through actions or the chat, and frankly the tribunal system and reporting this doesn't work. Punishing people isn't going to help if the punishment is so weak.

So to change it, I propose this solution. The hextech crafting system is based on how well you do in game, right? It shouldn't. In that case someone could make a smurf and get the maximum amount of chests per month possible on multiple accounts. Instead, people should receive chests and keys based on how good of a player they are. Currently you can only honour players for 3 different things, and you cant elaborate. Elaboration should be implemented and good behaviour should be what everyone strives for. People who are honoured a number of times or consistently should receive chests and keys, while players with bad behaviour are punished more heavily. Players who are honoured should also get summoner icons, chests, keys, or even select skins/borders.

League's a fun game to play but I know way too many people that don't play the game simply because of the community. I'd love to see what Riot's implementing into the game, so a PBE account would be really great, but while i'm waiting I think these changes would make League better.

The Hextech system already excludes most toxic players from getting free loot.

I see no reason to tie rewards to the honor feature. In my eyes, that would lead to more problems than it would solve.

Well, while the community isn't great, I think it has gotten a lot better over the years. I would say my personal experience has been much better after they implemented the new feedback system. I think I've reported maybe 20 players since August (when the instant feedback came online).

Smurfing is a problem, and to be quite frank, there really isn't a good way to fix it. IP bans won't work, so as long as you make a new account with a clean e-mail address, you won't stop smurfs.

Here, I'm going to disagree with you, and keep in mind that I'm probably a minority here in this opinion. I don't think good behavior needs to be rewarded. If you watched The Office, there was a scene (season 4 I think? I can't find a clip of it) where Ryan was in charge of setting up the new website, making him a boss over everyone in the office. Jim goes up to Ryan and says, (again I'm paraphrasing) "Hey I closed that big account" "do you want me to congratulate you on doing your job?". Essentially that's the way that I feel with these "rewarding for good behavior" models. Again I'm probably in the minority, so take that as you will.

Just in case you haven't already, here's how you sign up. https://pbesignup.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/pbe

I have a PBE account, it's alright, but it's not nearly as fun as you might think it might be.
