Why the honor system update changing it from a positive system to a punishment system is unjust

The only real fair point I have is that it was told to us that being under honor 2 would make us unable to get end of season rewards too late to actually make a difference

if you're level 1 or zero a month or two is not enough time to get back to 2, I've been playing for the whole year and still am on step 0 of 3, and have an account where I annoyingly just sit there and praise everyone and it took me about 4 months to get from step 0 to 3

Then not to mention you make a system that is supposed to reward good tempered tilt proof players, and you shaft them by giving them almost nothing, literally... for doing so, but taking away a ton of players rewards for something as simple as a single set of chatbans?

it used to be a 2 week ban, now it's 1 set of chatbans?

how ever could this blow up in your face, it surely won't effect your already plummeting profits (2018 profits down 20% - google it)

Good luck to you, idgaf either way, my one account with all victorious skins will also get this one and will continue to get them, as I don't make the mistake of typing on it, but the fallout you WILL experience next season will be hilarious.

It was told to us at the very beginning of the season that you need honor 2 for end season rewards...

Except, they've made several statements throughout the year that this was the case. They've been absolutely transparent about it since the beginning of the season.

The issue is that people only pay attention too late to make a difference.

Each person's Honor climb is going to be different. Some players will show honorable behavior and climb quickly, others won't and will climb slowly, while others beyond them may still show negative behaviors and not climb at all.

I've seen cases where people have reclimbed from Honor 1 to 2 in three months, one where someone climbed from 0 to 2 in five, and I've heard someone say that a best-case scenario is climbing a Checkpoint a week.

Then not to mention you make a system that is supposed to reward good tempered tilt proof players, and you shaft them by giving them almost nothing, literally... for doing so.

What do you mean "almost nothing"? Does ambient key fragment generation, Loading Screen Flairs, Exclusive Skins, Bonus end-of-season rewards, as well as periodic rewards caches that have key fragments, skin shards, and Essence - does all that not count?

We're rewarded plenty for being honorable.

It used to be getting a 2-week ban within the rough cutoff date, and/or having an active punishment at or after the season's end.

The parameters haven't changed much, if at all.

It's the age-old "Glass is Half Full/Empty" argument.

  • Half Empty "We don't get anything if we don't reach Honor 2"
  • Half Full "We start at Honor 2, and if we never drop below it, we get rewards"

Have you considered not breaking the rules you legally agreed to?

the issue is that riot blatantly lied about making it easier to climb back to level 2. It doesn't matter how nice and polite you are. They butchered the system and lied about it. They claimed that they made it a little easier to progress in honor back to level 2. But in fact, they made it much harder. That was a complete and blatant utter lie. Just as much as Nexon talking about 'improving item drop rates" when all they did was increase the drop rate from 0.001% to 0.002%.

All Riot did was make it easier to unlock a locked honor. before it was harder to unlock honor but MUCH easier to get to level 1 and easier to get to level 2. Now it takes months. And ANY reports against you, even if invalid, will slow your progress down. You can get reported for getting ganked and losing your lane badly, for 'intentional feeding', the report gets thrown out as invalid but it still slows your honor down because you got reported.

it's the exact same system in Overwatch. A GM even ADMITTED it publicly.

Edit. instead of pretending to be nice. would it be better to have active honor lvl? the way you behave effects on your honor lvl and could switch from lvl1 to 5 to the way you get and give honors actively. **(if you dont give honors or get none or dont play the game at all your honor lvl goes down, but instead if you honor everygame and get honors the higher the lvl. system could actively scan your activity and decide your lvl based on that.) ** they should have other factors too that determine how you could prove that you are trying to behave in their game. if you get banned or restricted. you get some sort of time out from honor system. higher rewards on monthly to those who are active and positive. that system would be rewarding and fun way to give instant feed back on your behaviour during grinding in soloQ! instead of permanently banning ppl even if having honor lvl 4! and ppl should have possibility show that they can reform. just like tyler1. (even if id ban is different than permban) they ban 8 year old accounts that have spent hundreads of dollars on their content and keep on supporting their F2P game.!

noone will read this but anyhow. my small thoughts on how honors should work.

If you’re level 1 or 0, continue playing regularly (i.e. a couple games a day on average), and have actually changed your behavior, you will regain honor 2 in a month to a month and a half. Period.

The problem is most people, like you, refuse to change their attitude. You say you “don’t make the mistake of typing on it”. That is your mistake. You are avoiding the problem instead of correcting it. If you’d actually lose this “holier than thou, always right” attitude you have, then you would also likely win more games, in addition to climbing in honor and actually having more fun.
