Before I start, lemme say that I'm not going to vote on the poll, partially because it's based on a misconception and partially because I honestly don't care how frequently I get the Instant Feedback Report.
Now, with that out of the way, let me point this out;
would you rather see the message that someone you reported like 50-100% of the time a report of yours got someone banned
or like 5% of the time like it is right now? or at least thats what it feels like.
So far as I know (judging off of official statements regarding the IFR as well as my own understanding of the system), the Instant Feedback Report doesn't have a % chance to send - it's guaranteed to be sent if a player is punished.
The supposed unreliability of the IFR is a case of "Boards Wisdom" where the low frequency of seeing it had to have some explanation, and that explanation was "well it doesn't always show up to avoid witch-hunting/because it's meant to be an occasional reminder" - and, admittedly, I did spread a bit of this boards wisdom myself for a while.
The actuality of it, though, is that the IFR is guaranteed to send if a player you reported was given a mainline punishment recently due to your report.
So if a player breaks the rules, you report them, and that report winds up being the metaphorical straw that broke the camel's back and results in the player getting punished, you will receive an IFR. This applies to everyone who reported the player in the match that resulted in their chat restriction or account suspension.
How_ever_, it is possible for your report to be validated without resulting in a punishment; since the IFS punishes based off of consistency x severity, someone committing a more low-key offense may not get outright punished for a match you report them in, and due to that, you won't receive the IFR - even if your report is valid.
man id love to have the option to say
"hey every report i did within the last XX amount of hours, show me if it lead to a ban. I WANT TO FEEL LIKE MY REPORTS DO ANYTHING!"
I don't think that'd be wholly beneficial, much less achieve the intended result of helping you feel like your reports matter.
- You only ask for which reports led to a ban, not chat restrictions.
- Being able to select a timeframe to check for report validity could lead to harassment cases.
- What if your report is still processing (due to being, for example, manually reviewed, or taking a while due to being an intentional feeding/trolling case)?
These are just a few outstanding issues I could think of, but nevertheless they're still valid concerns.
