i have a question for A RIOTER. regarding report weight

i posted this in help and support but it got deleted but i have a few questions involving hidden report weight and false reports and i would like to hear from a red or at the very least a blue.

  1. what defines "false reporting" what happens with all the negative players who simply "weren't caught" or are evading detection/subtle trolling, or what about players who report for swearing, regardless of if it's directed at someone "im not one of them, but i could see this being a thing"

  2. is there in fact no such thing as a "false" report, and report weight is simply determined by how often you report

  3. if the automated system both reviews and hands out punishments with zero human involvement. and is capable of recognizing "false" reports. why can't i simply report EVERYONE. and have my real ones stick and my invalid reports thrown out? it seems like report weight is simply a relic of the old tribunal, and has no real reason to exist with the automated bot

  4. with asking for reports being against the rules. even if one report is the same as 9 in a single game. hidden report weight still provides motive to ask for reports based on it's very existence ESPECIALLY if a player thinks thier reports arent doing anything simply because they report a lot and have "already used up thier quota" and have nothing telling them otherwise, what's riot's stance on this?

please, unless you have additional questions. do not comment unless you are a red, or at the very least a blue. or your name is deep terror nami. "i still consider you a blue regardless of what riot says" i dont want trolls derailing this thread before i can get a legit response

The report is considered a false report when there aren't any metrics (items, kda, chat, stuff that's easy to track) that indicate a report is false. For example, if you report for negative behavior because someone built 5 tears, that'd show up and the report would be marked valid. But if you reported for something harder to track, for example following you around to steal your farm, that report would be marked invalid.

Now, that's not necessarily a bad thing. The system knows cases like that will happen, so as long as that only happens infrequently, it will not affect your account standing. Furthermore, the system can tell when a person is getting a large number of invalid reports: a Rioter can choose to individually investigate why that is occurring, see that the guy follows people around, and issue a manual ban.

Edit: All a report does is send a game log to Riot. If you frequently falsely report, your reports will stop sending logs to Riot. To repair your report status, someone else in the same game will need to report validly (so the game log is sent) and then a mark on your record will appear that you reported validly.

from what i understand the weight of your report depends on 1)how frequently you report 2)the correlation of your reports with other peoples reports. (This means you will have more weight if you usually report people who are reported a lot) People that file false reports will not correlate well with other peoples reports.

Asking for reports is against the rules?
