the toxicity

I'm just finding it extremely just... well, insane how bm people are on this game. I'm brand new, have now played like 15 games total pvp, have moved from champ to champ and different roles so i literally have like 2-3 games max on any given champ or role and people go ballistic in game when you don't know what you are doing. First off, if they are getting matched with me in blind draft does that not mean they are similar to me in skill? I'd think league has an mmr like any other moba. Second, who really cares? We are talking about non ranked games here. Don't get me wrong, i've met some nice players, willing to help in anyway possible, but the majority seems to be tilted five year olds. I've heard for years now from people never to play league because of their community. I thought "hey, i'll give them a chance, can't be that bad". Man was I wrong. Fifteen games in and i have seen extreme toxic behavior in every one of them, whether towards me or another player. Do most of these players not understand a learning curve? You got around 150 champs, many items, different runes, masteries. Ever think that that may take a minute to figure out? Someone said something extremely aggro to me about not realizing what ekko could do. Guess what? Was my first game ever against an ekko. Apparently you need to read extensively through every champions guide, item lists, every rune/mastery combo before you are allowed to play 1 game lol. Grow up people... (yes, i understand that many of these players may be actual children and therefore can't fathom acting like an adult)

Thanks for the help though to those few people who have tried to help me early on. I by no means intended to say the entire community is terrible, but it is definitely a major problem that needs to be addressed. I have played league in counter strike for 12 years, brood war and s2 for years, every mmo imaginable and i have never come across the manner of league of legends players.

Total rant, I know... anyway. Have fun fam

Well I think this is a common problem for new players at this point in the game's life cycle. A LOT of lower level players are actually new accounts being made by experienced players so their expectations of the skill level for their allies are unreasonably high. These "smurf" accounts often outnumber actual new players.

There are also quite a few players at low levels who are new accounts made by players who were permanently banned and that seeds the lower levels with a higher than normal amount of caustic, aggressive players who are already at ban-worthy levels of shit talking.

But even when you get to a 'decent' skill level and hit the level-cap, there are still a lot of players with bad attitudes. Some players are very quick to blame anything but themselves for their losses and ignore everything that they could be doing to improve. A lot of it results from feeling trapped in a losing game with no way out and being helpless to carry a game that was lost by your teammates, its extremely frustrating and some people are really bad at dealing with it. Others are just plain assholes and will do whatever they can to piss people off.

And yes, there is a matchmaking system with a hidden Elo that places you with players of similar skill, but it doesn't stabilize until about 15-20 games played so in your first few games the matchmaking can be extremely wonky.

You want to know the worst part of the league of legends community. The people who get flammed (such as yourself) and reply in any negative way whatsoever, are more prone to get banns and reports than the actual flammer himself. And even if he does, he just makes new accounts and keeps going. As you can tell the tribunal system has a shit job of helping with the toxic situation, because in reality it's not fixing anything at all. It's just hurting the player base by criticizing victims who just play for fun, and allows toxic players/trolls to continue their rampage.
