Team surrenders at 20 because of one lost teamfight... Report?
There is a report for "Giving up". There is a report for "Giving up". There is a report for "Giving up".
I just want to make that abundantly clear. The very first report option includes "giving up" as a reason for reporting.
Now, the surrender function is ostensibly for unfortunate circumstances, correct? You're 4v5, or you're down 40-2 and you all just want to get on with your lives, but your opponents are deliberately not ending it. I can see why surrender exists.
But shouldn't almost every single surrender I see constitute grounds for a report? Because most surrenders I see are in circumstances such as...
-
We're down 20-9 at 13 minutes, towers even.
-
We're down 30-12 at 15 minutes, but they haven't taken any towers and we've taken all the outers.
-
The game is fairly even but the other four players aren't dominating like they want to be.
-
Two teams are matched 8-10. The team with 10 kills loses a teamfight just after 20 minutes, putting them down 13-10, and they immediately surrender 4-1. No, this literally happened to me yesterday.
So... I mean isn't that giving up? I'm pretty sure the definition of giving up is just throwing up your hands and letting yourself lose because you're too lazy or weak-willed to man up and churn the butter.
From now on, I'm reporting every teammate who surrenders when we have even a remote chance of winning.
CLARIFICATION: Obviously, I'm referring to such games as generally follow early comments of "gg we lose" and the like. I do not mean to say that surrendering is in and of itself bannable, but that the attitude surrounding most every surrender I've seen is generally defeatist and morale-killing.
(Also, this amount of downvotes in response to a post about a team quitting on teammates who still want to try winning a very winnable game is yet another reason this game is no longer worth my time. Good heavens are you guys a nihilistic lot.)
