Permanently banned for no reason (I haven't even played in months)

I've been busy with work and school these past few months, but I finally had some downtime and decided to login to League. I received a message saying I had been permanently banned and to check my email. I received no email or message whatsoever from Riot, I broke no rules, and wasn't even active when the ban occurred. Maybe my username is slightly offensive, but I figured I'd get a warning or forced name change, not a permaban.

Yeah I just realized my account has been compromised. The verified email was changed to a string of numbers and letters that looks really fake and spammy.

What does it say exactly when you try to log in?

Also, contact their support. We are just regular players on here, it's rare that a Rioter comes by

It could be a protective suspension. If they see atypical activity on your account, they will ban it. As RallerenP said, contact support and they can help you further.
