our last game wasnt too good we won, yes, but the team was extremely rude to him sure, he was 0/19 at the end of the game, but he's really trying, and he's only level 17. after receiving lots of offensive words, he decided to just quit league. i tried. i couldnt do it.

Yeah, I don't recommend this game to people.

I am lvl 19 and the amount of harassment i get is really bad. Half complain about there team when its just someone on the enemy team that is really good. When I do even slightly bad the harass is way too much. New players shouldnt have to put up with this. I almost report someone every game whether I did bad or a teammate did bad. If I am supporting a bad ADC i tell him hey go to coop and practice not "you suck" or something bad like it.

I hope your words of comfort change his mind and he reinstalls later.

I remember my first normal game. It was blind pick and I went Fizz (mid). Ran into another Fizz and needless to say got smackdaddied but he was teaching me in all chat while my team was busy flaming me.

Well, him and I are friends to this day and the rest is history; happened a good many years ago.

If and when he comes back, take him out of norms and practice a little 1 v 1 w/ him in Custom SR over Curse etc. and help him that way; I used to play the game and do just that for new players I met who got flamed in my names. Pointing to right guides on YT or teaching them a little yourself esp. if your group of friends does it (custom 5 v 5 among friends) etc and going against them specifically and many other ways.

I'm glad you tried to help him out! #MadRespect [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

You have no one to blame but Riot Lyte's automated permaban system. It permabans so-called "toxic" individuals, but the real people who suffer are the new players who have to try to learn the game around an angry "smurf." I dealt with this too, but luckily I am decent at these kind of games and was able to hold my own.

Until the people and Riot realize what kind of position they are putting new players in with this permaban system, then they will always have a horrible experience. It needs to be changed to a permanent chat ban system. I must say though, getting new players and catering to them has never been one of Riot's strong points.

Edit: on a second note, there is never an excuse to go 0/19.

yup almost made me quit aswell when i started in season 2. i was so scared of getting reports in normals and ruining the fun for games (cause some smurfs were mad at me for feeding) that i only played 3v3 bot games till lv 30 because there were only 2 other humans so the lowest chance of ruining games. not sure what was my problem, usually i dont give a single fuck about mad ppl lol

I agree, this is very unfortunate. I've had a few friends try and play league again and I've had quite a few people play two games and get severely trashed and cursed at to the point of one of my female friends will only play aram now.

I get that riot is trying, but their efforts aren't good enough. The behavior system that is currently in place is not working. I don't think anyone has learned their lesson from a chat restriction. obviously a lot of people don't learn from 14 days of not being able to play. The system doesn't pick up constant intentional feeders really well, as well as not letting us dodge out of an obviously bad game before it's even begun without a penalty.

When we report a player, we aren't getting instant feedback on if our reports matter, we don't know the weight of our reports anymore.. it's almost as if riot is like "oh we got your report, guess he was just having a bad game with all the hate speech he was spouting" ...

I think the game should auto mute all (except for people on your friends list) until level 20 tbh. This happens too much. It is almost a certainty that if a new player goes 0/19, people will be mad and be dicks to them.

Ask him to try ARAM. People don't take it as seriously and it may hook him back into the game.

Is it bad I am finding more enjoyment in playing Games Workshop's abandoned tabletop games like Battlefleet Gothic on Tabletop Simulator than I am playing League of Legends?

I understand the reason of this thread and the context: but looking at his response; it seems to me he wanted to make a scene based on his emotional state. Maybe he will quit for good, maybe he will not--But it sure is stupid for people, more so for people who doesnt have skills themselves to jump on a lvl 17, which truly skilled people wouldnt bash on anyway.

yeah, unfortunately the experience for new players can be very, very bad, to the point that many just quit after before reaching lvl 20. I know, because a friend of mine did just that. I remember that i received a looooot of flame too when i was low level... i mean i was bad at the game (not that i'm great now, btw), but i was just a newbie with 0 experience with lol or similar games, so i don't think i ever deserved any of that. Heck, i don't see what could i have done to deserving having people tell me to go die or get cancer and similar things. The reason why i didn't quit is that i don't really care what they tell to me. That's why i never even bothered to mute flamers: every time they offend me it means nothing to me. Maybe it also helps that i'm what you may call a casual player of lol: i play just for fun, i never play ranked nor do i care about ranks in any way. Myabe it's just that i'm too old for it, but i don't give a damn about pro players, nor would i want to be one. When i play i do my best to win, of course. I also like to cooperate with my teammates and communicate with them. If they are assholes, who cares? i can just ignore what they say. When they go afk is annoying, but well, i'll just try to have fun and hope to have more luck next time. But even so, seeing people being so toxic is not something i enjoy. I also feel sorry when that happens to new players who are just trying to learn and have to deal with all this shit. Personally, whenever i happen to play with someone who is still learning and doing bad, i try to put them at ease. If someone is flaming them, i try to get them to stop. However, most of the time when someone is doing bad there will be someone to flame (sometimes the person itself), that's just how lol's community is, i guess...

However, in my experience things get way better once you reach a decent level (at least in normals... i wouldn't know about ranked). When i was low level, the amount of flame was too damn high, but after i reached lvl 30 things changed. It's not like i don't meet flamers anymore, but waaaaaay less than before, and usually they are not THAT bad (as in, they may complain a lot and being annoying, but usually don't tell me to get cancer or wish for me to have a painful death). So, if you are a new player and you like the game, keep it up: things will probably get better (seriously, i think at levels 10-29 is when you get the maximum amount of flame).

I just want to provide you guys with an update The guy ended up not quitting after all. He was perhaps just frustrated with the game, and I legitimately understand.
