Riot needs to take punish AFKs/trolls harder, they're a growing problem

I would say every 5 games or so I have some overconfident asshole, who is usually the worst player on the team though not always, start flaming other players for perceived mistakes (emphasis on perceived, usually the issue isn't really there and the flamer is just an asshole) then after like two more "mistakes" they either start trolling (stealing jungle farm, AFK in base and moving every 4 minutes to not get leaverbuster, etc.) or they just leave outright. These people, NEVER get punished and I have NEVER gotten a feedback report. They're an asshole and verbal abuse, which is a reportable category, then they give up/ soft afk but stay in game to farm occasionally or move around, which is a reportable category, then they ACTUALLY AFK, which is a reportable category, yet they NEVER get punished.

Like I said, it feels like once in every 5 games but maybe it's closer to 1 in 10 on my team. A massive deal, and in addition to the shit queue times it basically makes the game feel like it's not worth playing. These people baby rage and give up at like 4 minutes into the game, what the fuck am I supposed to do if I keep getting them on my team?

They DO get punished SOMEtimes, but I agree that Riot could step up their game in this area.

The problem is it isn’t the same people afking over and over you are just getting unlucky and getting them.

People who afk often, yeah they should be punished, but they can’t punish people for one or two games of afking, it would be way too harsh.

Riot heavily prioritizes punishment of attitude over actual gameplay sabotage. It's very sad. If I say "you suck" I'm far more likely to get punished than someone who abandons the match.

hey there, we here at rito shames feel that a first time 5x5min low priority Q is such a heavy punishement that stepping up our punishement would traumatize people for their lifes. so this is all you get.

It's because you're playing on NA servers. Whenever i had the misfortune of playing on NA servers in any game this was a consistent issue. It's not an issue in League, it's an issue because 'Murricans.

There's also a problem with consistent over-reporting, in the sense that "oh this lane lost, report them" or "oh this lane didn't follow me on an idiotic call, i'll report them"

I completely agree with you. No matter who they decide their target is, it ruins the game for me. Extra when I am also the target. Sometimes because I suck, and sometimes because I am not using my alt at level 4. It's not like I am traumatized by the digital treatment of myself and others, but I am playing a game. I want to chill out, listen to music too loud and play league. You described it so well in your original post that types of behaviors you see, those things make it harder to chill out, listen to music too loud and play some ARAM.

I am not really sure what the solution to the issue is, but it is definitely an area that needs improvement.
