The fact that this community openly uses homophobic slurs is disgusting

This is 2016, there is no place for that ignorance. It shouldnt be a slap on the wrist. It needs to be much more severe.

I don't see how an account ban for the first time offense is a slap on the wrist. What more do you want Riot to do?

not another "it's the current year" argument

it is. calling people mean words is almost always a ban, and it's not 'this community' it's a small minority of people. stop overreacting

As of homophobic slurs aren't present in other games. Riot is one of the few companies that actually punishes players for using slurs.

I sleep with men and women and don't get offended by it much. Work on developing a stronger mindset. You can only control your own attitude in this world.

in all fairness, this isn't completely riot's fault... can't change decades of this being the mainstay of low-vocab gamers overnight.

I don't run into many people who use homophobic slurs. Probably 1 in the past 50 games, if that.

This is 2016, and people are still vain little assholes that throw tantrums because, oh my God, someone said a word. You'd think that, as society advances, we'd be less animalistic in nature, and think for ourselves instead of living and breathing through the flock (look where that went though). Maybe you could try not caring what people think of you, and stop trying to make everyone approve of the decisions you make? Worth a try at least.

But, alas, that's just the homophobe in me talking.
