The "the other guy was toxic too and he isn't banned. reeee..." argument

question:

where would they go to complain about it if they, in fact, did get punished? is there a secondary more hidden forum for "the other guy"?

no.

#THEY COME HERE

i mean... you know... unless they know how tickets work and that the support is the actual place to go to fix an issue and not the forum...

if you kept note of every single name you ever reported and looked them up on the forum, i'm sure you'd find at least some of them in here at some time or another.

You guys seem to be dwelling in this weird universe where the guy who made you "defend yourself" just lives in the game and is in no way part of the same world you live in. It boggles my mind...

To be fair though, punishing both parties is NOT the way to handle disputes. You make them talk it out together and explain the feelings involved. You don't expel both students outright.

Personally, I don't know you can "defend" yourself with texts or how that helps the overall experience for other players who are trying to play the game and win. Also, this "defending" with your text is nothing but a back and forth measuring of pride of who's the better keyboard warrior.

So nope. I too have no idea what's the point of people "defending" themselves with their walls of text or severity of words.

Eh I'm on the fence on this one. I don't think Riot is always right, but I also think the people who put those arguments forward don't understand that Riot can do what they want because this is their game.

I think that ignoring the context is wrong in so many situations, including this one, but at the end of the day we all agree to a ToS. There are many situations where "who starts it" matters and how the moment escalates plays a role in both who gets in trouble and the severity of each punishment. The world isn't all black and white.

At Riot that's not how they handle things though. That doesn't mean people have to agree with that, but they do have to accept it.
