I have played this game for a long time and I still dont understand the point of flamming your team

Don't people want to win games? I guess they don't because if they spend so much time trying to put down their own teammates then they clearly don't want to win. There is no benefit for flamming your own team that will make them suddenly play better, in fact flamming only makes them play worse. Do people make mistakes in league of legends? Definitely, but then again so do you and even professional players. Are some people better/worse at league of legends than their peers? Of course, but you are in the same elo as them so like it or not you are stuck with them for the game. If you hate relying on other people's ability to play the game, then please stop playing league of legends and play a single player game where you are in control of most factors and can win everything.

I know this is a baffling concept, but this is a team game. Yep that's right, you are supposed to work together to win the game, not yell at each other in a psychotic rage.

There is no point, it is just human nature to point blame.

I don't understand flaming as much as I don't understand complaining about flaming.

It's more fun to flame than play the actual game. Sometimes.

Being positive also winds up being a drag after so many "ff 15" games.

I agree with you 100%. Not only does flaming waste time but when you do it in all chat you paint a huge target on you or your teammate.

And someone earlier mentioned placing blame is human nature; I’m glad there are people in this world who instead of blaming and just excusing themselves with “natural behavior”, try to be better. Instead of flamming give constructive criticism. It’s just as easy to say “we need to focus the Draven” as it is to say “ wow bot fed too hard” but the outcome is way different. One can inspire and help people stay level headed. The other will just make someone feel bad and either start a chat blame war OR just cause them to play worse.

I DO NOT CONDONE NOR ENDORSE TOXIC BEHAVIOR IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM, however, As a resident toxic player, I'm going to ask you a simple question: Why shouldn't people be toxic. League of Legends while being a team game no doubt, it puts an extreme focus on individual performance. Often times at almost every elo except the absolute highest, which is something less than 1% of the player base are in, the game feels as if it is a single player game with 5 players stuck in the same game trying to win it in their own individual way. While this obviously is not how the game is supposed to be played, with a meta in which the game can be snowballed and ended by 20 minutes its difficult not to think this way. "I play for my advantage" is a common sentiments among all players in this environment. When people make the process of doing well and winning more difficult the natural response is anger. Getting angry at someone online is no different than getting angry at someone who missteps in the real world, except here is the crucial part: anonymity. The worst punishment you could possibly receive for flaming someone else is a ban, however, that's extremely unlikely to happen in the majority of situations. Thus without fear of punishment, the stress of attempting to win a competitive game, and a myriad of external stressors that players cannot be handle in the same visceral manner, it only makes sense that people would lash out. While in no way am I condoning this activity, let's not be naive and assume it doesn't make sense. People are angry. People lash out when they are angry. The only thing preventing people from lashing out is through punishment. Don't establish a narrative that being angry or toxic is somehow additional work. In a world surrounded by deadlines and stressors, people are increasingly angry. “Half of all Americans are angrier today than they were a year ago,” while only 8 percent say they are less angry than they were last year." -The American Rage, a survey conducted utilizing 3,000 Americans found in January of last year. https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/a40693/american-rage-nbc-survey/ Thus the real question should be, what makes people not angry. Humans have an automatic predisposition to aggression when adrenaline is pumping, so thus anger is our "natural" state when playing competitive games.

tldr: People are naturally angry and in a meta that prioritizes early individual leads, it's extremely easy to get upset at someone messing up.

Well, one thing I've never understood is why League players are so sensitive to "flaming". You can give legitimate advice in this game, and about half the time people will view it as you "flaming" them.

League is the only game I have ever played where people react that way.

People feel the need to vent and project their frustrations onto something or someone else.

The internet allows them the luxury to do so without fear of physical repercussion. What's the worst thing that will happen? They have their account banned?

Whatever, it was probably just one of their many troll accounts they use to make others miserable so that they feel less miserable.

Of course i will get mad ( not flaming , but arguing with the team). I just had a 0/6 nunu jungler before the 10th minute 2 times dead before the minion spawning. Of course i will get mad when the enemy shaco invades me in my own jungle and my mid zed and top mundo just jerk off on their lanes. I just fought with shaco for 2 minutes and i would understand if yasuo pressured zed and the lane was pushed in advantage of yasuo , but it was the opposite. Literally no point working your ass off for somebody who cannot even click the right button twice. Ok , if you don't want to help me , but you could've get a kill FFS.

Just an advice, when you see somebody declaring yasuo , but yasuo gets banned and the guy locks kata or zed just dodge. Thank me later.
