Because I have no chat, I have realized that I am starting to use pings a lot more often. I am not that type of guy to spam question mark, but I do spam the danger, vision, etc pings. Can I get perma-banned if others get annoyed of my pings?
If you use pings as a harassment tool, you can get punished for it.
be grateful for the disable, typing a smiley in chat over the next 6 months can get you perma'd with a report through riot's dogshit way of running the watchlist system.
pings can't get you banned as far as I know, but you better watch who you piss off.

Don't use the pings, they're idiotic.
G+Swipe so the other guy can read his chat then look at his map? It's much faster if everyone just looks at the maps often. G+Swipes are a trash addition to the game, and they do nothing but weaken teams.
The automated system will not punish you for it. You'd have to be doing it constantly in an extremely annoying way over the course of many games, and even then its unlikely.
