You know what would be great? If surrender wasn't based on a timer, but on differences in score between teams.

Something like, KDA + Gold + Levels + Towers + Dragon/Baron + Players. An algorithm would need to be made that assigned a value to each of these so that a team could not surrender unless they were too far behind! This way, if your team goes 0/25 in the first 10 minutes of the game, you aren't forced to spend another 10 minutes on a wasted game. Alternatively, your team can't surrender if you're doing well, and thus your game is not thrown out because some bloke took a puff of their mary jane and decided to go on a MikkyD's run.

I know, some of you will be opposed to this, "But what about muh bedtimes!" and "But muh cat is on fier!" or "But my dealer just called!" , and I get it, I understand, you miscalculated the time and you need to take your kid to soccer practice. But in the end, the players who didn't want to surrender, the hapless random to join into your quad-queue or trio-queue crap, don't get booted out of a game that still has a fair chance of winning, and upon surrendering/losing/winning the match, can drop a well-deserved report on your face for leaving the game. And the auto-punish system has a better chance of finding their faces now that the punishmonkeys of the tribunal have retired.
