Confirmed with Riot Support that asking for others to report a toxic player is against the rules because it "alienates" them. That is pretty ridiculous in my opinion, as asking to report a toxic player is only looking to better the community and obviously they do not have to listen.

No, reporting the player yourself post-game is.

There's two reasons for this:

  1. Only one report per game matters. Whether I get one report or nine reports in one game, that game is flagged because I was reported. Abuse reasons aside, there is sound logic in it: if one player feels affected by another's behavior enough to warrant a report (and possibly punishment), then it's pretty likely everyone in the game was affected. The most obvious would be an intentional feeder, and even a flamer requires the entire team (or both, if all chat is used) to have to deal with one, two, or more people arguing (which, honestly, can ruin a game even if you're not involved in the argument).

  2. Going off number one, if only one report is necessary then asking others to report is redundant (not to mention they should only report if they feel the need to, not because you told them to). Constantly begging for reports can eventually lead to harassment, especially in the small chance you're in the wrong (like claiming someone is intentionally feeding when they might be having a bad game. Yes, it happens. No, they are not always doing it on purpose). Even if they're doing something wrong, just ask them once to stop, and then report them afterwards. There is no need for further communication about it if it's clear they're not listening and refuse to.

Its unnecessary to have 9 people report one person. The reasons is that 9 reports have the same exact value as one report: It flags the game to be checked and if need be actions will be taken. So yes it IS a form of harassment. You don't need everyone and their mothers reporting one person it doesn't have any extra power behind it.

I would like to say that "Agent Spoopy" is not an appropriate name for the childrens. Spoopy sounds too much like poopy and poopy is too close to shit.

i honestly disagree that asking for reports should get people punished. does riot really expect everyone to just smile and nod for 20 minutes while there is some guy feeding on purpose? even if 1 report is the same as 9 until they explain how report weight works and what constitutes a "false report" if for no other reason people should be allowed to ask to placebo themselves into feeling better. the problem is riot has created upon themselves a perpetual catch 22. they tell people that false reports lower report weight. but they also tell people that 1 report is the same as 9 in a game. which contradict each other. also. they are incredibly wishy washy as to whats actually punishable and what isnt. with the exception of hardcore intentional feeding or N bombs. and because of this. people who actually know how the system flags people. skirt the line trying to bait people into getting themselves trouble. which in turn leads to people getting more and more passive aggressive. which in turn leads to trolling, which in turn leads to people asking for reports

I completely agree. I do not want to ask other players to report someone who is doing something normal or even sort of bad. I want to be able to ask other players to report someone for being over the top toxic. Often one or two reports is not enough for the case to go in front of the tribunal. We need to be able to do this @riot and your ruling on this is not supported anywhere in the summoner's agreement/code.

Can anyone actually prove that 1 report is the same as 9 reports or is that just propaganda most likely from abusive players who like going unnoticed by the tribunal.

Why not punish players who ask others to report without grounds instead of this cold undocumented policy?
