Evolution in the permaban idea

Hi!

I was wondering what you guys thought about permaban in League of Legends. Do you think Rio should give players another chance? I think the game has evolved a lot and I think players are requesting a change.

In my case, I was permabanned a long time ago and since then (3-4 years), I didn't play LoL until now. I find it sad that I have to pay for my past behavior and cannot get another chance. I know plenty of other players that are in the same situation. It's just frustrating that we have to build an entirely new account from scratch for offenses that happened a long time ago.

What do you guys think?

Thank you !

Why is it sad that you have to live with the consequences of your decisions? This isn't an ongoing punishment, it's best to not think of it that way. You were punished at the time because you didn't take the multiple chances before a permaban seriously.

You are not prohibited from creating a new account and playing the game, but the punishment for disregarding the rules is ultimately the loss of the account.

Not to be too preachy, but this is not a League thing, this is a life thing. Not all situations come with infinite chances. Don't expect to get back together with a significant other if you destroy a relationship. Don't expect to get a job back if you get fired. Actions have consequences.

Riot's tried this at least twice. The first time was a confirmed failure even on a specifically hand-picked group (picked for showing signs of seriously wanting to reform), and the second one we don't know the results of.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the idea and I say this as someone who's had an account that was permabanned.

We're already given 3-4+ chances and there has to be some severe consequences when breaking the rules, they can't just keep giving temporary chat restrictions and gameplay suspensions.

I know plenty of other players that are in the same situation. It's just frustrating that we have to build an entirely new account from scratch for offenses that happened a long time ago.

That's the whole point of the system. It's supposed to be frustrating when your account is permanently banned, it's a punishment. They want to deter you from breaking the rules.

That being said, in the past when players were unbanned it didn't go so well. Riot did two unban experiments, resulting in a high failure rate (80-90%+) and undisclosed results, respectively.

Welp i learned my lesson , and here i am ... it took me some time but i am reformed !!! time is the only matter that you can by pass pretty easy if you dont think about time for too much. Just give it time and your new acc will be even better than the old one !

It is sad. Thats the consequence of consistently breaking the rules.
