Lot's of leavers in Ranked games

Hi, I recently returned to league say a few months ago. And Enjoy many parts of the game. One thing that has been really really fustrating to me. Is that players actually just quit the games. And i know sometimes people have external issues that cause them to leave the game, but i'm talking about the ones that actually just say "I'm Leaving"(rage quit). In what sport are we ever allowed to come back to after quitting on our teammates?

I just thought it is weird because it happens a lot more frequently than I think any of us would like. In most of my games people are noticing these few people (because it is in essence a minority). I would say about 1 in 15 games I have them(although the other day i had 3 in 5 games). Which is 1 in 44ish people. That's really only 2% of the player base. And i would think across the board it would change. I would imagine at higher elo (im currently gold 3), The leaver % is much less.

But I know i personally would like the see people more severely punished. I looked up the ban sentences and its like 1 day, then 3 days, then 1 week. Something following these lines.

If there is valid proof that a player left to spite his team (regardless of anything said in chat. He should be banned for atleast 1 month. like 1 day???? does a 1 day ban change peoples behavior to leaving games? The worst part is, these players must know they will receive a ban or potential ban and just take it.

To me I've always been one of those. If you don't want someone to commit the offence, don't make it worth doing. If even 1-2% think its worth committing the offence is that okay?

What's your opinions? What has been done over the years to improve the % of problematic players? Who gets banned, the player or the account? Does riot have a group of officials who look over evidence and issue bans? And if so how large is the division? and should the division be larger?

Every time i encounter a leaver. It makes me stop playing league for a bit. Being rude and toxic in chat is bad, but people who actually abandon ship are the absolute worst. I can't just mute that person. The game is in most essence over (except for those really rare times i win 4v5).

I just made a post on this, and I agree 100%. You may be a higher ranking than me that's why afks don't seem to infuriate you like they do me, I am in Low Gold and I see an afk player once ever 3-5 games, forcing the other team to try to win the 4v5 or just automatically lose right when this player gives up. I would RATHER this player just int down mid lane than afking, that way he gives the other team large shut down gold so I can take that myself. But instead I see these players who DO NOT get banned, players that know they can just afk and there will be NO punishment for it. Riot has said "it's too hard to track these players" CS:GO has had for years a community spectate program that allows players to watch reported players' games and then tell Valve these players do need to be punished. Riot refuses to enact and discipline on these players. Just look at this player I made a thread on

He has had MULTIPLE games where he will afk, all in ranked of course, and his team just loses from it, he is NOT toxic in chat and that's why he is not banned, riot only has a system where they will check a players match history if he has LOADS of reports, and their chat logs will just go through a filter, if he hasn't had enough reports, and isn't being toxic in chat, Riot does nothing for a punishment.

Yes you can tell that I am very upset about this, but I feel I have the right to be. I have spent years playing this game TRYING to get better and climb, but seeing players like this once every 5 games, then checking their match history a day later and seeing they are afking in games again, and have had NO break in-between games showing NO bans in place.

I am glad you have also noticed this along with me, a lot of players in the lower ranks SEE this, and quit league too. This is something that always makes me turn from LoL onto another game. I shouldn't have to be a large figure in the community to get players like this banned, I should just be able to press the report button and get the immediate feedback, but instead these players NEVER get banned and afk in my games still.

THATS WHY DOTA 2 IS MUCH BETTER PLATFORM THAN LOL MOST OF MY FRIENDS MOVED TO DOTA2. IN DOTA IF YOU LEAVE A GAME THE PUNUSHMENT IS 3 LOW PRIORITY MEANS YOULL MATCH WITH OTHER LEAVERS ONLY. HOW FAIR IS THAT I AM ALOS LOOKING FORWARD TO MOVE TO DOTA AS IT IS LESS RAGING AND ALSO THE MATCH BECOMES SAFE TO LEAVE
