I Don't Take Kindly to Threats

When a player threatens to leave for whatever reason and I happen to have chat on, I'll likely tell them something along the lines of 'fine, cya'.

I'm not going to pretend like they're my special friend just to get them to keep on playing. I'm not their pappa, their momma, their encouraging big bro or sis. I'm a total stranger to them same as they are to me. They want to quit? They want to troll? They want to intentionally feed? Nothing I can do to stop them and I won't even bother asking them. It's their choice whether they want to play by the rules; otherwise, they can fuck off for all I care.

And if this edited post somehow still violates board rules, Riot, then fuck it. I'll sit quietly in my corner with my mouth shut like a good boy.

Honestly, that's not the worst way of handling someone threatening to leave. You can't really stop them, and while it might be better to simply remain silent, this doesn't seem that problematic. If it helps you deal with the situation, go for it.

what is the discussion point/value of this thread if not a rant?

I had a Jax threaten my recent games by saying "if we don't group mid, I'm going to quit". But that jax had some pretty bad macros and micro plays even though he somehow had the most gold in the game (just a bit over our ADC). So I actually laughed in real life, cos his call was like ... super bad.

Needless to say, he pushed a lane and got picked off, said GG, and we won the next team fight without him and won the game.

Not sure why sometimes the worst players in the game is always the toxic ones.

I dont say anything either. Sometimes they just wanna know that someone will react negatively, and that encourages them toleave even more, because some people just wanna watch the world burn. So I dont risk it. If they threaten leaving, oh well, who knows if they really would have left if you reacted or not. But its my opinion that most people who would leave a game, arethe types that want to spite others.

Just ignore them honestly. I make one effort saying hey, It's ranked. Treat it like it and lets win. Detilt. We are here for a common goal. If not, Just carry.
