Give me a perm-chat ban?

Hi, I enjoy playing this game but the I feel like people are just behaving like a******s by emote spamming and when I tell them to behave or something else, I instantly get insulted making me extremly toxic. My question is, is it possible to give me a perm-chat ban or perm-mute which I dont need to see their emote spam or all-chat. In that case it saves me from being toxic towards this people who just seek someones their rage. [sg-shisa]

Thanks,

ST

Hey, I've got good news for you.

Riot added the permanent mute way back when the game was released. Want to know how it works?

Think before putting your goddamn fingers to the keyboard.

You could just mute their emotes when they start spamming...

You can mute enemies emotes by from the options menu, it will prevent them from showing up in your future games.

As for your teammates, just use /ignore team or /ignore all. It will mute them and silence their emotes at the same time.

To avoid repeating what the others have said here unfortunately even if you had your chat removed there's no guarantee you won't misbehave in other ways.

Riot once did an experiment where players could rack up tons of chat restrictions (infinitely scaling, essentially a perma-mute in a sense), and what was discovered was that not only did it not help with reform, but the truly toxic individuals simply resorted to committing gameplay-related offenses instead (i.e. trolling, griefing, inting, etc.), things that are much harder to detect and prove intent for than simple chat-related offenses are. It's because of this discovery that the IFS was created, so players who frequently and consistently torment others are removed quicker than they would be otherwise. From Riot Tantram:

It really breaks down into two categories.

1.) Helping players reform 2.) Shielding others from the behavior, at a cost.

We used to issue chat restrictions that essentially scaled indefinitely.

We were able to determine that after a certain point the penalty no longer helped with reform. The 10-game and 25-game counts for chat restrictions are based on data that they were both light enough, and felt strict enough to encourage people to understand their behavior is unacceptable in game and change it.

We also saw that the players in this 'large restriction' category defaulted to gameplay altering means of harassing their team. It caused an increase in feeding and trolling.

The sample size of this population and time frame is huge. Essentially the time spanning from the introduction of chat restrictions to the introduction of IFS.

So my question for you is, would you rather have more feeders and less negative chat?

If someone isn't gonna behave properly despite being given multiple chances to do so then why shouldn't they be removed from the game?
