Question about taking a break from League.

So 3 days ago, I had to go to something which made me have to use my laptop in order to play League since I was on the go. I had to adjust the mouse sensitivity so that it would fit the needs of the laptop. I noticed this because I was playing so poorly even though before I left on this trip I was great. I eventually settled with a mouse sensitivity, but I still felt off and everything because I don't normally play on a laptop, mouse sensitivity different, etc. I came home today and played on the desktop that I was great on (before I originally left for the trip), and I was complete shit. I played 2 games, lost both. Since the account saves the mouse sensitivity settings, it was set for the laptops sensitivity when I was on my desktop, so I attempted fixing that shit up before I played and thought i was good but like i said i played 2 matches and lost both, all because of me (fed obvi).

Ik it's a weird topic to bring up but I feel like I've just lost all skill cuz even tho im back to my good computer, i still play like shit and feel like im off.

Everyone I tell just tells me to take a break and I should be better after but i just dont understand, how does taking a break improve your game/mindset?

And if it doesnt, tell me, but i guess if after not playing league on my desktop for 3 days completely takes all skill away, i quit, cuz i feel fucking horrible.

If this is just about the mouse settings feeling awkward, I would suggest to simply load up a custom game and play with the settings for a while until it feels natural again. Probably wouldn't take more than an hour or so to either find the right sensitivity or get used to a new one. I don't see any real need for a break here.

Imo taking a break to improve is either because you need to calm down (from a bad losing streak for example) or to study the game from a different angle (watching LCS/high elo streams, reading guides etc.).

Your problem doesn't seem to be one fixed by taking a break, but by getting used to your original setup again. Just play some bot matches or ARAM etc. til you're used to it.

I had to cover for a brother who was needed for something family related, so I picked up his game for like 5 minutes while he walked away (he told me to). He's in bronze ELO and I'm gold, but just the simple fact that his mouse was slightly fatter than mine made me miss literally every click.

So ya this is normal, you will adjust back.
