Why is it when you get matched with "new" players (that constantly make the same mistake over and over again) and you try to give advice everyone takes it as being toxic or as if it is in a toxic "tone"?

Why is it when you call out a player, that claims to be plat, gold silver whatever and calls everyone wood rank, on their countless mistakes you get banned?

Why is there a language filter if you can still get banned for foul language?

I play to win. If others need help I help them. I main support. That is my job. But when others come into the game and intentionally make the game a toxic experience on purpose what is the point? I have recently been banned from LoL for 14 days for "Toxic Behavior" but only one of the 3 games they used as reasoning has what could be called toxic chat. The other two games where from over a month ago.

How long do you have before a "toxic" game falls off your "record"? Or is it just 3 strikes and you are out? this is very infuriating.

There is a mute button. Use it people I did. I was even repremanded for "toxic behavior" once before and it showed my chat where two of my games litterally had zero chat from me and the third had a "gg".

Can people just report you and if you get enough reports then that is it you get punished?

Please someone explain this to me. Maybe this games community is just not for me.

  1. Giving advice is fine. Giving advice in a belittling manner isn't.

  2. Call out a player is unnecessary. They want to claim to be plat? Sure. Doesn't affect my game either way, or mean I have to listen to them.

  3. The language filter is for people who don't like foul language. "Fuck, that was some fucking awesome shit you just did" bothers some people. "Fuck you, you piece of shit" bothers pretty much everyone, and just isn't needed. The first is foul language, the second is foul language used to attack someone else.

  4. Reports only cause the system to check your behavior. If there's no behavior, there are no strikes against you, so the report doesn't matter.

  5. We don't know the exact timer on how long behavior counts against you, but good behavior can clear your account, yes.

If you can post your chat logs, I can help you identify what behavior is considered problematic that you may not consider problematic yourself. :)

I feel like anything can be turned on you no matter what even if it's positive but still just keep trying to be nice instead of responding badly.

People in this game will report you for anything, regardless if you did it or not. If they didn't like how you were playing, your build, maybe you were having a bad game, etc. they automatically go in /all chat saying "REPORT MY TEAM TOXIC".

You won't get punished just for cursing. You get punished for insulting and harassing other players, which often includes cursing, but the cursing in itself doesn't really make a difference. It's hate speech and telling people to commit self-harm that gets the ban hammer moving extra fast.

Can people just report you and if you get enough reports then that is it you get punished?

A single report triggers the automatic system to check your logs. Additional reports against you in the same game do nothing. Reports won't do anything if there's nothing in your logs for the system to punish. If reports alone were enough for punishment, many players would abuse that mercilessly.

I've trashed people up and down when they start getting cocky and never been banned. I've been warned a couple times, but only like two or three in some five years of playing. Could just be bad luck, or good luck on my part. If it helps, I tend to be creative when I trash people. I generally type so eloquently they're not even positive I'm insulting them. Maybe that's what keeps the banhammer at bay.

yeah your best bet is not to type. Been banned a million times, so I can speak from experience. Typing anything + getting reported = ban. Nearly everything triggers the automated system. A clever one sentence burn is your best bet_ IF_ you must flame. But much safer to just have a "bad game", that stuff doesnt get picked up easily. Be safe out there!
