So, it was going well until...

So, some friends and I were running a 3-man premade in One For All. We were having a good time y'know, you win some... you lose some because of course, you can't predict what you're going to go against.

Well, you certainly can't predict who you're going to play with either.

We enter the PGL, and it doesn't take long for us to realize that the people we're playing with happen to be in a duo, what with how they seem to be nonchalantly saying things like 'love you babe' and things of the like, along with funtime gossip. Our group is in a call on good ol' Discord, and one of them is like 'I don't even know what's going on anymore maaan. " And, I agree since it's kind of weird when a couple does that kind of a thing in public and such but, for the first few seconds (Yes, the peace was only seconds long) we didn't really care much. But oh, Mr. Boyfriend of the Year here needs to impress his girlfriend.

So, he proceeds to go in for the kill with his best material, being 'casually racist'.

First, he goes for the usual thing of people saying things like 'Wow we're queued with three noobs' (Which is funny if you look into his and his girlfriend's scores and match history) which is usually to be expected of randoms because let's be real, who really has respect for anyone nowadays? No no, it's much too hard to be a civil person. And, it only gets worse over time. Enter the game, and before we even get into lanes he basically says 'Wow, I bet you these three guys queued together are a bunch of korean smurfs. Bet they're just going 'sushi suhshi'. Now, I know he wants to bait a reaction out of someone... but my friends and I are civil. Yet, I decide to humor him anyway because hey. why not see what else I can get out of him. So I give him a simple 'I'm Puerto Rican' in order to fix his little mistake of nationalities, and this brings on quite a line of commentary afterwards. He doesn't use any slanderous terms of course, because he's probably aware that feedback detection would respond much too quickly if a report comes in with that kind of language. So instead, he just constantly decides to always bring in ethnicity into everything he says directed towards me and those i'm playing with (when the others aren't even Puerto Rican as well. He just assumed all of us to be such). It's honestly amusing, especially because he makes up a bunch of terms and words as he clearly doesn't know the language, and eventually he gives up and starts degrading his commentary towards calling us all 'Jose' and saying how he has 'no time to deal with our taco problems' and that 'we're dumb because we can't even get his order at taco bell correct'. Mind you... isn't Taco Bell the product of er... a white man? But hey, what else can you expect from Mr. Boyfriend who clearly has an easily provoked inferiority complex.

Might I also bring up that he called us all noobs they, the duo who supported picking Ashe ... went bot and ended up basically feeding the MasterYi that destroyed the game because Mr. Boyfriend was too busy typing and being negative ever since the match started because he had basically already given up. Like... I know that none of us ended up going positive, but I have the sliiiiiightest feeling that the game might have lasted a bit longer if they had tried a biiiiit harder to not keep engaging out from under turret the first time they died. Sure fighting Yi was p r o b a b l y a lost cause, but holy heck it didn't help that the guy had an incredibly large ego that just stopped him from trying the entire game.

Oh well, at the end of the day, my friends and I still reported him, as the experience no matter how 'light' he was trying to be with his racism was still very off-putting. Especially with how intensely he tried to go after all of us, when we repeatedly told him to either stop or keep talking to his girlfriend instead of us.

Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better experience [sg-ahri-2]
