Why can someone be banned for flaming
Dont we have a mute button for that? We should ban people running it down mid, not people calling another strange on the internet ugly.

Why do people get banned for being a worthless liability to their team and a nuisance?
A brat having a meltdown is an auto loss even if you cant see the crying.
The mute feature is only half of the solution for dealing with flamers. The report feature just so happens to be the other half.
Besides, the existence of the mute feature doesn't exempt you from the rules. The rules still exist, the mute feature is just there to help players deal with people who break them.
"Why do people get arrested for harrassment? Isn't that what restraining orders are for?"
"We" do ban people running it down mid. It just takes longer (for a variety of reasons) than chat bans. We can do more than one thing at a time, though.
We honestly need an FAQ post to stop these repetitive questions.
A mute button is not an excuse for flamers to break the rules. If you break the rules, that’s on you. The mute button is not there to protect you from your own behaviour/choices.
A mute button does exist to protect the flamer’s teammates. It’s not a solution to the toxicity problem, but a short-term measure to minimise the chances of teammates tilting or retaliating. That doesn’t justify flaming. Muting just minimises the negative impact of the flamer and makes it easier for the team to focus on the game... until they can report the flamer at the end (long-term toxicity solution).
That’s already been clearly explained to you, however. Why ask a question if you’re not interested in listening to the answer?
They do ban for running it down mid. Sometimes it takes longer though.
If you annoy someone enough for them to outright refuse to communicate with you, the damage is already done.
