Is lack of communication a reportable offense?

If not then it should be. I hate to beat a dead horse but this is a TEAM game. Even if you think the other players are trash, the least you can do is throw out mia pings and tell the other players who/what/when/where and why. Imagine if this "I DON'T NEED TO TALK TO MY TEAM" logic was applied to something like American Football. The team huddles together to choose their next play, but the coach and the players are just completely silent, then they get on the field and the quarter back doesn't know who to throw to nor can the other players expect what's gonna happen. Just like with League, if that were to happen that team would get their asses handed to them because they aren't playing like a team, they're playing like a bunch of loners who just so happen to have the same uniform as each other. I don't care if it's bronze, gold, challenger or unranked, there is nothing more important in a team game (besides player skill of course) than basic communication.

Sorry if this got a little ranty, but it's something that I feel a lot of people don't take into account when playing league. Thoughts and responses are always welcome, thanks for reading and have a wonderful day!

See, but with football you most likely joined that team of players intentionally, know who they are, and are spending real life time with them. With LoL, you log onto your computer under a fake alias to play with four other people anywhere in the country for 15 minutes to an hour, who you most likely will never hear from again.

I support the idea that communication is important, but lack thereof isn't necessarily a reportable offense if the player is still attempting to use pings. I would say 80%+ of my ranked games (P2 for context) have less than ten words spoken from the team as a whole for the entirety of the game. Pings can be more than sufficient.

If someone absolutely refuses to communicate with the team via pings, it can be a case where Riot may issue a temporary lock until the player explains themselves to support.

It’s not explicitly prohibited, but Riot definitely frowns on people who don’t ever communicate in an entire game. They’re free to mute everyone if they want, but they’re still expected to contribute to the communication via pings/chat.
