Honor lock?

I got a (fairly issued) 10 game chat restriction for the first time since I began playing about a year ago and I intend it to be my last. Not here to complain about that.

I just have a question. How long does it take for honor to get unlocked? A riot employee replied to my ticket and told me (give or take) 50 games of perfect behavior. Other people have said 7 games minimum and like 15-20 games.

Is there a set limit? Or do I just keep playing normally and one day I'll just wake up to it being unlocked? I dont want to play ranked again (which is where I got tilted enough to flame) until my honor is unlocked so is it okay if I play out these games in aurf or aram? Or do I have to go on norms or ranked in order to get my honor unlocked?

Playing with the restriction on honestly was therapeutic. I learned from my mistake and am adamant about making it to at least level 2 by the end of the season (is this doable from level 1 locked?) and realized that taking your anger out on a person who you wont remember in a week isnt worth the punishment they give you.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

UPDATE 3/9/19:

Just an update I suppose. My honor is still locked. I've played about 44 games of AURF since my chat restriction was over, if we're counting the games during my restriction it's been 54. One was a Solo Queue game, the rest were AURF. The restriction happened Sunday evening, and I finished it Monday morning.

It's been about 6 days and my honor still isn't unlocked. ;; I've been saying nothing in chat other than "gg" and "gg, wp" at the end of games, and in pre games where I call out what lane I want to go to.

26 of the 44/54 games I've played were with premades (mostly my GF, 5 of those games were in a group of 3).

At this point should I maybe send a ticket in to Riot asking if I've been validly reported/is there an actual reason I haven't been unlocked yet since my restriction? Here's my OP.GG if anyone cares to look at my match history:

As you guys can see I'm not inting, or doing troll builds or anything like that. Though I do admit some games are kinda not good when it comes to KDA but it's URF and some of them were first time champs so hopefully I wasn't reported for intentional feeding or anything like that?

And like I said I've only been using chat pre game to make lane calls, and then say "gg" or "gg wp" at the end of every game. I don't see much of a reason to use chat in AURF games anyway.

Is this normal or is my unlock taking longer than usual? Based on other people's experiences they've gotten it unlocked in as little as 15-20 games so this is kinda worrysome cause I feel like I've been doing everything right.

basically honor lock and honor climbing works the same way. if you behave in a good way, both goes up faster. if you behave bad but not bad enough(or often enough) to get punished your progress can come to a stop. it took me around 30 games to unlock it last time. you'll log in and get a message saying its unlocked.

the average person needs 2-4 months to get up 1 honor level, so making honor lv 5 is still doable for you

the gamemode doesnt matter (maybe bot games dont count but im not sure about this)

if you dont use the chat AT ALL it will take a bit longer than for someone whos really a friendly person, but it works aswell. just please dont be fake-friendly to gain honors and stuff.

tl:dr just play, be normal/friendy and youre good to go. maybe use the muteall option and besides gl hf and gg wp dont use the chat

takes about 3 days. The whole 50 games thing was a lie.

Just play 1 game a day and you should be fine.

Still locked. ;; 12 days after my restriction, 11 days after the end of my restriction. Probably 70 games played since then not using the chat at all or just using it to be positive (it honestly feels hella good to just mute people who give the game a negative atmosphere rather than reply to them).

In this time I have since gotten back up to Gold 3. \o/

But still worried about my lock. Starting to think those who unlocked it in "just a few days/under a week" did nothing BUT play the game and grind more than 100 games in that short time to make it happen.

Does anyone know if sending a support ticket to riot would be beneficial at this time? Just to request if I had been reported recently for any bad behaviors that I may not be aware that I'm even doing?? Not sure what people would report me for but I guess it's up to Riot.

Call me impatient if you want bc I am lol I hate seeing that little lock next to my honor. I hate not making any progress at all. D:
