Is it just me or is everyone raging harder this season?

Since S6 started, I feel like everyone I've been grouped with has been way more toxic. Like one misplay turns into a flame ware 75% of the time. I'm not even an exception, I have been raging so much harder this season to the point where I don't even enjoy the game anymore.

I honestly feel like AFK check is a huge contributor. I am starting every single game in an annoyed mindset because it takes 2-3+ minutes to find a game only to have someone fail the AFK check. Its not even almost uncommon for the wait time to be over 5 minutes, that you have to be staring at the screen just waiting to click okay. Sometimes...after 3-4 successful AFK checks on my part, I'M the one that turned my attention away for a second and then I have to start all over. I actually got into a game while typing this but I didn't lock in my ban because I was in this window instead so thats a 5 minute delay before starting over in queue again. Oops!

This probably isn't the only reason flames are hotter, but its definitely something that puts me in a sour mood before the game even begins. Anyone else notice themselves raging harder for this or any reason?

Groups are more toxic than individual players. The larger they are, the worse it is with 4 queues being extremely toxic monsters that should not be allowed in any game mode. Dynamic Queue has allowed groups into ranked, making it much more toxic than it was previously.

Issues with Groups

  1. Us vs. Them Mentality

Groups create a division in the team. No longer are you all just "blue" or "red" but it's "randoms" and "group" or "group 1" and "group 2". The team begins the game already divided. The group wants to "defend" it's own members and "blame" the others as a natural instinct.

  1. Escalation

Small arguments that would normally die out quickly get escalated and take over chat. If someone in the group messes up and is called out, usually he defends himself and then other group members join in. This is multiplied by the size of the group, making the effect worse.

  1. Lack of Communication

In a game of all solo queue players, you need to communicate with everyone. When you have two duo queues and a solo queue, you still need to communicate with everyone, but you talk to your own group a bit more-- which can actually help for things like botlane duos. However, when it's 3 and 2 randoms, 3 and a duo, or 4 and a solo, the need to communicate breaks down. Since you and two other people are already communicating via voice comms, there tends to be a feeling of entitlement to make decisions. And in a 4 queue, the solo player is usually left to figure out what everyone else is doing. It's unpleasant and toxic.

  1. Oversized Impacts on Gameplay

Groups tend to have too much influence on your game. Imagine two teams, both have solo players and a group of 4. One team has a group of 4 all on voice chat, all communicating, and who are all working together. The other team has a group of 4 not on voice chat, that are just sort of friends. In both situations the solo queue player has tiny impacts on the flow of the game, and it's way more likely that those communicating will win.

it also because one mistake in the early game, its pretty damn much over. Games are being decided in the first ten min and when soome asshats decides that he is god on a keyboard and ends up feeding a couple kills early games is over 8 of ten times. used to be if u fed a couple kills early it wasnt an issue and u could make a comeback, not so anymore, so it makes ppl bitch more over play mistakes. Then u have to sit through a entire game u have no chance of winning for 20 min or 30 cause ppl wont surrender

how can this be possible? since rito only has a 0.006% of toxic players in their community? don't believe me? look it up in any permabanned report card rito tells you only 0.006% of players are toxic so you must be talking about another game, this game is only played by respectful and responsible individuals who never get salty and always follow the summoner's code.

This is actually the first season I've really started to play ranked. Silver V and man, there is a good chance someone is going to either afk, feed 3 kills by 4 minutes and rage at the jg (me T-T) or say "GG" "I'm done" when the enemy takes like 2 of our towers. I didn't realize ranked was so much worse than normals.

I think its because of 3 main reasons.

Part of it has to be that games are so much easier to snowball than before. That one mistake that used to be brushed aside and forgiven can now cost you the game at 5 min in. Therefore the first guy to screw up gets a lot of hate.

The overall state of mind that the game is an unbalanced mess atm. (Which it sorta is). When people have this mindset of certain champs or things being unbalanced they generally get angry when they lose to them. It's the whole "Why is this ADC so strong. Fucking ADC update and items." Or "Overpowered assassin item on Zed."

This makes everyone bitter and ready to blame the state of the game. It makes them feel frustrated and that they have less chance of wining because of something out of their control.

Dynamic Que. Groups gang up on the randoms. Randoms feel left out. Pick and Ban takes too long to even get into and when you do there's no guarantee you'll get to play what you wanted to.

Teambuilder Superior, Dynamic Que Inferior.

Start of a season, honestly, people coming back, getting punishments, learning they can't do that sort of stuff anymore.

The start of every new season the first 3 months are terrible. You have tons of people playing with and against people they have no business playing with and when your entire ranked system is built around only whether you win or lose, it's easy to understand why people get so pissed off when someone plays Teemo jungle.

All teh people bitter nh' salty about not having silver back immediately because dumb thunderlords lanes can win the game instantly.

Morgana - Instead of a poke that could be sustained it is now an all in free kill at level 1 every 9.5 seconds.
