What's with all the bots in pvp this season?

I don't see this in the boards, but this is a Player Behavior & Moderation topic.

I hate bots (the third party programs that automatically run accounts through games for whatever reason). Playing with them sucks as it's nearly impossible to win, and playing against them gives me a feeling of hollow victory. Basically, it's not fun.

I have been playing league for years (since season 3) and never come across bots before this season... what's with that? It's very sudden, and since I've never come across even 1 bot in the 600+ games I've played before this season, I don't know what to think (was I just lucky until now?). Now there's a bot every 4 or 5 games and sometimes I get strung along with 4-5 games in a row where either my team or another team has a bot.

I just don't get it. Is there something that can be done to prevent this? I report every bot, but this is ridiculous.

Can a bot report option be added where, if: 3 people from the affected team and 2 people from the opposing team report said bot, the account is automatically given whatever ban the account is in line for? Or is that too 'abusable' of a solution?
