is it a punishement reason to tell your teammates to mute toxic people?

i think we all had that situation before: you got a flamer and pingspamer in your team, you mute them and instantly play better. but someone in your team who did pretty well doesnt mute them and starts to play way worse because he keeps chatting with the flamer. so you tell him "just mute the person. flaming back is bad, you played so well until now and look how your focus dropped" and your team is like "wow thats toxic man reported"

so knowing the system is a bit weird, is that really a reason that gets you punished???

Personally, I believe it shouldn't be. Telling someone to mute toxicity helps with communication since the chat isn't littered with people throwing shit at eachother.

If that’s all you say, you should be fine. If you repeat it multiple times and get really passive-aggressive about it, it could become an issue.

If you notice a teammate getting tilted and you simply decide to tell them “hey man if you’re getting tilted by the chat you can mute them” or similar, as long as you don’t use that to harass people (like begging for mutes for example) then you should be fine.

Just remember, a calm soul leads to a calm mind and a calm body. Treat others as you wish to be treated in life and in conversation, and spread no ill will, then you should be pretty safe from reports due to not doing anything reportable! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

Normally when this situation occurs, I do state, "Mute each other". So that I make it where it doesn't sound like I am picking sides or picking against a particular player.

Asking nicely to mute each other isn't a considered a punishment. It's only negative if you try to include an insult, a harassing comment, or such. But no, you should be perfectly fine.

no, but it's also not your business to tell them anything, to begin with.

What is that logic? You can't magically play worse just because someone is flaming you. If that's the case then Korea wouldn't be so good.

Doubtful. Among many of the game's tips is to mute toxic players and report them after the game. Passing that advice along to others should not be punishable.

Additionally, players are prone to reporting others over anything and everything. For example, simply by playing jungle, you are flipping a coin on whether or not someone on your team will report you because if your team loses, someone on your side will likely report you, claiming you "trolled".

I'd like to say that's definitely not an offense, but it does seem close to the line of what would be. I wouldn't risk it if I'd had any prior chat restrictions/bans.
