First offence is a 14 day ban??

Alright so I was playing a ranked game and said kys chat. I've never had a warning, ban or anything of the likes before. Is saying kys in chat really a non negotiable 14 day ban? No warning, chat ban, or like 1 hour suspension? If so I think it should be more clearly identified in game that this phrase is zero tolerance, or even just blocked entirely. Wheres the line on swear words versus zero tolerance hate speech? I just got back into league this month after a 2 year hiatus and was really starting to enjoy playing it, but a 2 week suspension really just killed it for me. My issue is that I believe this is an extremely harsh punishment for a first time offender, and if you want to have a policy i where some words are non negotiable bans, there needs to be a way to communicate that to the player in game. This kinda thing kills the game, and I don't want to have other players be 14 day banned for saying a non negotiable phrase that they weren't aware of. Thanks hopefully you guys take this suggestion, and either put something in game, or reduce the punishment for first time offenders.

Yes, kys is a zero tolerance phrase that will earn you an escalated punishment. The reason being is because Riot believes you shouldn't need a warning that telling someone to kill themselves over a video game is completely unacceptable.

Being not aware of is your problem, not game s. Open the board and read some threads in player behaviour. Moreover, do u find telling someone to end his life a compliment?

Ignorance is a curse only u can solve.

I'm a suicide survivor; my young men's president (youth pastor) completed when I was a freshman in high school; I remember that day better than 9/11. 2 and a half years ago, I was put in the hospital on a 72 hour hold for it. And, recently, I had the heart breaking "privilege" of welcoming a young man to survivorship after he lost a friend to suicide. There was nothing I could tell him, because there's nothing to say, and "I'm sorry" doesn't quite have the right ring to it. I have no IDEA why teens and young adults think this is "cool" or "edgy", to flippantly and actively wish that tragedy on someone, and everyone who loves them. In all honesty, you got off light.

What is dead may never die...is something no one ever said about old threads. Since this thread's been White Walker'd, I'm locking it (due to it's old age).

Yep. Trigger words for an automated ban should just be globally censored instead. It is dumb
